Kherdia
Hello all. I own an Asus A7V333 with an AMD AthlonXP2100+ (1,73GHz). And I changed recently the old memory module (PC266 CL2.5 512Mb DDR, not a Corsair module) with a CM72SD1024RLP-2700/S Corsair module. This is for the context. During the installation, and on the first boot, i got a blue screen of death (think it was a 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL), after that, the problem disappeared, but it came again (there, I'm sure it's a 0x0...A IRQL_N_L_O_E), when running a particular MMORPG, but no problem with others, nor with other applications (browser, media player, dvd player, etc.), and it came again recently on a particular video plugin running in browser (can't remember which) and after many reboots and as much blue screens, i gave up and replaced the old memory module. That's for the problem. I got MemTest and ran it for hours on my new Corsair module => seems like this module get no problem. I went to your configurator to see what the compatibility can tell me => the list of compatible modules don't show mine (CM72SD1024...2700), despite my MB theorically accepts PC2700 modules of 1Gb, is that normal ? Should I manually change settings in BIOS ? Should I change for another Corsair module ? And which ? Or what ? Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 14, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 14, 2005 This MB does not really support registered ECC memory. And are you mixing this module with another one? And have you tried to load setup defaults and then test the module with http://www.memtest.org?
Kherdia
This MB does not really support registered ECC memory. Oups, thanks for this precision, I didn't understand that and this piece of information will be useful. Is RLP standing for Registered something ? I am not mixing this module with another. And I tried to load default settings for the BIOS and tested the module with MemTest, I'm not an expert but MemTest returned no error message of any kind, so I suppose this module is perfectly ok. The fact is that my online reseller (LDLC) offers a limited choice, which one of the following modules should I choose ? (I cleaned the list from the ECC reg modules. And my only need is to get 1 Gb instead of 512 Mb, no need to get the fastest one.) Corsair CM2X1024-5400C4 - 1 Go DDR2-SDRAM PC5400 XMS2 (no lifetime warranty ?) Corsair CM2X1024-6400 - 1 Go DDR2-SDRAM PC6400 Corsair CM2X1024-6400PRO - 1 Go DDR2-SDRAM PC6400 XMS2 Corsair CM72SD1024-3200 - 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 ECC Unbuffered - CM72SD1024-3200 Corsair CMSS1GBR72-400D2 - 1 Go DDR2-SDRAM PC3200 Corsair CMX1024-3200C2 - 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 CAS 2 (no lifetime warranty ?) Corsair CMX1024-3200C2PRO - 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 C2 PRO Corsair CMX1024-3200PRO - 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 (no lifetime warranty ?) Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR2-SDRAM PC4200 - CMSS1GB-533 Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC2100 ECC - CMSS1GBR72-266 Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC2700 - CMSS1GB-333 Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC2700 ECC - CMSS1GBR72-333 Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - CMSS1GB-400 Corsair System Select 1 Go DDR-SDRAM PC3200 ECC - CMSS1GBR72-400 Is System Select compatible with my MB ? If so, I think the System Select PC2700 is the best suitable for me. But if none of them is really compatible and interesting, I should change my reseller. Thanks again. :)
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 18, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 18, 2005 Either of these will run well with your MB and would be 1.0 Gig modules. CMX1024-3200C2 CMX1024-3200
