biggreddhedd
I have two VS512MB400 modules that came as a "matched" set for Dual Channel. I have used Mem Test and found that both modules fail. One module will fail right away in Mem Test but the other one fails test 7 in Mem Test. I have tested with the voltage set to auto and set to 2.7 volts with the same results. The symptoms in Windows Xp Pro were BSOD with various faults and when I tried to reload Windows, it would not complete an install due to failure to copy files. I tested the modules separately and together with similar results. Are there any more tests I should run or should I return the modules?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 12, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 12, 2005 That would suggest some other problem. It would be rare that you would get 2 failing modules let alone one. Please try and set the bios optimized defaults and then set the memory voltage to 2.7X Volts and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. biggreddhedd
Sorry, I guess that I wasn't clear in my last post. The memory modules were tested with bios optimized defaults and with the memory voltage at 2.7 volts. They were tested in two different mobo's and together and they were tested separatly. The memory modules were tested with Mem test. The only thing in common with the two test setups were the memory modules.
