P5WD2 Premium and Twin2x1024-5400C4

I've been scouring the boards here to try and understand what's going on with my memory and my system, but I'm confused.

When I boot up, my memory is displayed as PC2 5300 Single Channel. I've tried tweaking the CPU speed and settings in BIOS based on several different threads here, but it continues to show PC2 5300 Single Channel (or, sometimes 4200).

Stuff:

Asus P5WD2 Premium

Corsair XMS2 Twin2x1024 5400C4

Pentium 4 D 840 3.2GHz

Right now I have the CPU Freq. set at 225MHz, DDR2 SDRAM Clock at 675MHz, and these:

SDRAM CAS Latency: 4

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay: 4

SDRAM Row Precharge: 4

SDRAM Active Precharge Delay: 12

DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 1.9

I tried setting the DDR clock to 533MHz and the CPU freq. to 250MHz based on the tested settings, but I couldn't quite get it to match up. The system seems stable and has been running for an hour or so now without any catastrophes. I'm trying hard not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I need to understand how this is working.

So...

Questions:

Should it be "Single Channel" when it boots up?

Should I be trying to get it to show up as "PC2-5400"? Is that optimal?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Questions:

1. Should it be "Single Channel" when it boots up?

A: No it should show Dual channel!

2. Should I be trying to get it to show up as "PC2-5400"? Is that optimal?

A: No this will never show in the bios, but you can run everest home and see what the memory is actually running at.
