Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a lot of troubles with my pc, so I did memest. It failed all tests untill now, it's running now test 7 (failing adres 135.6mb). I tried all the other memory slots, with the same result : thousands off errors.

Is this a bad part ?

What should I do ?

This is my config :

MSI K8N SLI

AMD64 3200

corsair 512 Value Select (VS512MB400)

Graphics card ATI x300

Antec 350W ps

Hope you can help me?

Guy

You should really be using a 450 Watt PSU or bigger with this configuration.

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.

I already tried with 2.7 Volts and all the other setting to auto. It has the same result.

I think my ps is ok. I not using the SLI function of my mb. I have one hd and one optical drive and a very basic graphics card.

It says 135.6 mb with all the errors at all tests. Don't know what this means.

I used an other module (corsair 3200XL) from another pc and now memtest ran fine. Booting into windows and installing software went ok.

When I tried the bad module in the other pc, it didn't boot. Could it be because the bios settings where set for the 3200XL?

XMS3200Xl have a minimu suggested voltage of 2.75 Volts, so I would set the memory voltage to 2.8 Volts with the MB you have listed. But I have no problem replacing your modules if you want to try that.

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
