MSI K8N NEO 2 + Dual Channel

i had a question about if my ram 2 ram stick pairs will work together.

first my specs.

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (San Deigo)

MSI K8N Neo 2 (MS-7025)

Bios updated to latest.

i have 2 pairs of twinX memory

TwinX2048-3200PT lot# 0515079-2 (slot 1-2?)

TwinX1024-3200C2PRO lot# 0439026-10 (slot 3-4?)

the MB has 4 slots and supports up tp 4GB of DDR400.

i wanted to know if it would work having them in dual channel or even work at all like that or do all the module installed have to be the same size?

i hope i gave enough information for you.

thanks in advance for any help.

CMX1024-3200PT revision# 4.1

CMX512-3200C2Pro revision# 4.1

i know i will probally have to relax timings on the c2 pro and use 2T, but dont know if they will work together.

thats for helping.

I am sorry but you cannot and should not mix memory with this platform. All of the modules would need to be exactly matched. And you should not Mix 512 Meg and 1.0 Gig modules on any system. Sorry. I would just use the 2-1.0 Gig modules for best performance.

would a CMX1024-3200PT be compatible with a CMX1024-3200c2PT or does the c2 make it impossible?

also would 4-CMX512-3200c2PRO be better than 2-CMX1024-3200PT in that giving platform in original post, the cpu supports 4 ddr400 modules to run in dual channel without dropping to ddr333.

what would the timings be for 4 of them, the same or more relaxed.

im going by this info http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8N_Neo2-F&class=mb

and how important are the revision #'s and how often do they change.

Again thanks for all the help.

thanks for all your help.

an update for this mobo at least:

one stick of CMX1024-3200PT in slot 1 and one stick of CMX512-3200C2PRO in slot 3 was able to work and pass memtest with no problems. i used the timings for the 3200 instead of the 3200C2.

i was thinking about getting amother pair of the CMX512-3200C2PRO to make 4 but dont know if that would be better than 2 CMX1024-3200PT.

on the AMD Forum, one guy suggested that 4x512 would have better performance than my 2x1024 with my mobo and cpu setup.

only bad thing is that i got my current CMX512's in oct. of 04'. im sure by then the rev. # has changed.....
