Problems connecting a 2GB Flash Voyager to a Belkin USB 2.0 Speed Host Controller

Hi there,

I have a Vaio laptop without a USB 2.0 ports. I have installed a Belkin USB 2.0 Card, with a NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller.

The card works fine with my 80 GB USB External HD from iomega, but everytime I plug my Flash Voyager to the card, the system tells me that the driver for the device is not installed (code 28) and when I try to reinstall the driver windows tells me that it was unable to locate a driver for the flash voyager (I searched the inf folder and in windows update)

In any case, the flash drive does not work. Interestengly, the drive works when using the USB 1 port.

Any ideas how to solve this situation?

Many thanks.

Vicente

I would check with Belkin and see if they have any bios and or driver updates.

But the fact the drive wors in the notebook ports would suggest it some issue with the Belkin USB Hub. However, I have no problem replacing your drive if you want to try that!
