asus p5wd2 premium +2x512 mb xms2

I own a asus p5wd2 premium +2x512 mb xms2 5400 c4 ddr2 667 mhz


In the mobo's bios when all is set to auto the memory is shown as a 4300 -533 mhz - memory.


when i set manually in the bios the memory to 667 mhz the system is crashing-restarting randomly.


I presume that there is a lack of memory voltage.


Which is the suggested memory voltage ?

means that i will set memories from 667 Mhz to 533 Mhz if i understood correct



Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-5400C4:


TWIN2X1024-5400C4 Data Sheet


Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings:

CPU External Frequency: Manually set to 250MHz

DDR2 SDRAM Clock: Manually set to 533MHz

DRAM Timing Selectable: Auto Yields the following timings

SDRAM CAS Latency: 4T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 12T

DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 1.9

NB Voltage 1.9 Volts (On Abit AA8 Only)

All other settings are motherboard defaults.

Maximum DDR2 recommended VDIMM: 2.1 Volts

Oh, I get it.


A 200MHz FSB with a 3:2 divider yields a 133MHz memory frequency times four for DDR-II equals DDR-II 533 / PC4300!


Now, if you OC your FSB to 250... a 3:2 divider yields a 166MHz memory frequency times for equals DDR-II 667 / PC5400!


So, by saying they set it to 533, what they really mean is they're setting the memory divider, then increasing it by overclocking the CPU's FSB (thus increasing the memory's frequency).
