ejs
Just built my new PC with these components and planning to OC. I'm new to OC'ing and would like to get suggestions on the manual settings needed for the CPU and RAM. I understand that manual OC'ing is the way to go instead of using the ASUS AI Overclock feature. Thanks in advance.........
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 25, 2003 Just turn Off AI Over clocking or Disable it and set the Memory Freq to 400Mhz and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts and then you can use www.memtest86.com to test but you will need to disable USB Legacy support when running this program. ejs
Thanks for the info RamGuy... I ran the Memtest and it passed. Should I set the timing manually for the Memory or use the SPD default values. I ran Sandra and it reported the timing as 2.5-3-2-6-1T instead of 2-3-2-6-1T. I also set the Performance Modes on both CPU and Memory to Auto. What is the DRAM Burst Length value suppose to be? The options are 4 or 8 clocks. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 26, 2003 The SPD should set the modules up to 2-3-2-6 automatically. If they aren't it could only be the BIOS which means you'll have to manually set your CAS to 2.
