Link66 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Can I use 2 GB memory modules, such as CM75DD2048R-400, in my Tyan Thunder i7525 motherboard? From what I've read in these forums and on the corsair web site, it seems that this product is not on the list of compatible memory modules for this motherboard, but I haven't seen anyone specifically ask aobut it. If it's not compatible, I'm curious as to why not. The Corsair web site claims that this board will support up to 16 GB of 400 MHz DDR2 (there are 8 slots, dual channel). Tyan's web site claims it will support up to 32 GB. The manual says it will support "DDR2-400 memory modules [that] can be using 256 MB, 512 MB and 1 MB memory chips". I assume that's referring to the chips on the module and not the module itself. Here are some 2GB modules the Tyan's web site claims are compatible and have been tested (http://www.tyan.com/support/html/memory_s2676.html) Vendor,Mem Chip,Part # Infineon, Infineon, GR2DR4BDE2GB/400 (HYB18T512400AFS) Infineon , Infineon, HYS72T256220HR-5-A (HYB18T1G400AF-5) MA-Lab/Super Talent, Infineon , T400RB2G4 (HYB18T512400AF5) I been using Corsair for several years, and would like to stick with it. Thanks!
