2G's--> 4 sticks of 512, or 2 of 1G?

I currently have 1 GB (2 pcs 512) DDR (400) PC-3200 Corsair (TWINX1024-3200XL) (2-2-2-5) in my system (amd 3500+, asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, 6800GT).

 

I have been seriously considering bumbing up to 2G of Ram, as new games come I want to run at max (also considering a second 6800GT)

 

I can get 2 more sticks of the ram mentioned above to get to 2 gigs, but (1) will that work with my system, and (2) is that better or comparable to 2 new top notch 1G matched sticks?

The downside of running 2GB other than the fact it won't really make a

difference as far as gaming in concerned is that 4 sticks would only run

at 333MHz, unless your CPU is a Venice Core.

The 6800GT in SLI would make more of a difference.

You already have the best RAM for your MOBO.
