blizzardAle
Hello Forum, Right now I'm choosing RAM for a new System I'm building. A8N-SLI Deluxe + Amd64 x2 so far as base configuration. I have been doing a lot of reading on what memory type to choose, and Corsair recommends: TWINX1024-3200XLPRO / DDR-400 (XMS-3200XL) / 2-2-2-5 TWINX1024-3200C2 / DDR-400 (XMS-3200C2) / *2-3-3-6 / I would like to take this system to 2Gigs of RAM, so I'd like to know: 1) Will I have any compatibility issues given the AMD 64 X2 proc 2) Is it better to use 4 x TWINX1024-3200C2, 4 x TWINX1024-3200C2, or 2x TWINX2048-3200PRO. 3-3-3-8 I know that latency-wise i'd probably should choose first one but I'm concerned if the MB will have issues with 4 chips. Thank you
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 26, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 26, 2005 For best performance I would suggest you use one Twinx2048-3200C2.
blizzardAle
For best performance I would suggest you use one Twinx2048-3200C2. Thank you for your input. You mean One kit of 2 chips? Because i would like to take it to 2 Gigs. BTW will it be the same if I use Twinx2048-3200C2PT ? The price is pretty much identical and its got abetter reviews. Wired
TwinX2048-3200C2 = TwinX2048-3200C2PT TwinX2048-3200C2 = black colored TwinX2048-3200C2PT = Platinum colored NO PERFORMANCE DIFFERENCE at all. If someone says they do, they're nuts. It's like saying a red model x car goes faster than a blue model x car.
