joumjouma Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 hi i just bought a new vs512mb400 to add to my existing same one i followed the mobo (asus a8n-e) manual and put the two modules on a1 and b1 slots for dual channel and then the computer wouldn t boot (just beeps) each ram module works fine by it self and passes the memtest i tried moving them around to a2 b2 with no luck when i put themn on a1a2 the computer works but saying that i still have only 512 any help would be great thanks
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 22, 2005 Corsair Employee Posted July 22, 2005 Please make sure they are the same exact part# and then please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings to "BY SPD" and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. .

However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. . thanks for your help but i found on the mobo manual that it doesnt support 2 vs512mb400 in dual channel (but supports one or 4 :bigeyes: ) so i returned those two and got a pair of xms that works just fine those asus guys should focus harder :evil: thanks again bye
