mnswiftone Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Just assembled Brand new system and moved my 2x256MBTWINX512-3200LLPT from: Shuttle SB61G2 (running at 400MHz with a 3.0GHz P4) To: Intel BOXD951GMHL with Intel 530J 3.0GHz This system boots and runs fine - though BIOS and system tools show Memory 'Auto' set to 333MHz. Trying to manually set to 400MHz hangs or causes system to reboot. This set was replaced by Corsair due to same problem with SB61G2. I hate to think they have developed the same problem again... I have emailed ramguy@ (had trouble getting password reset here - so reply here if you want (instead of email)... Just in case - I will mention: I will gladly trade these in towards a pair of TwinX 1GB modules (2GB total) if possible (I paid a lot for these back then, hint, hint) - or just tell me how to get these working at 400MHz. Thanks. Todd id: mnswiftone
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 18, 2005 Corsair Employee Posted July 18, 2005 Please try the following BIOS settings on your D915GMHL Intel motherboard, but before making the necessary changes; make sure that you have the latest BIOS available installed for your board, and load optimized/setup default settings and set the following BIOS settings. TwinX512 or TwinX1024-3200LL Advanced Chipset Features Memory Frequency: 400MHz or 200 if the options are 100/133/166/200. Configure DRAM timing settings: User Define Manual CAS Latency: 2.5 RAS to CAS Delay: 3 RAS Precharge: 3 Active to Precharge Delay: 7 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 volts All other settings should be left at motherboard default settings. Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
