chicobrew Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I have two XMS 512 - 3200c2Pro sticks. I just bought a gigabyte GA-K8N ultra board and the sticks of ram wont work. If both sticks are installed.. (in any and all configurations) the computer wont boot, nor will either stick light up. If one stick is in Channel A then the computer will boot but then crash within five minutes. I did memory tests on both sticks and they were perfectly fine. Other brands of memory worked great in the MoBoard. HELP
chicobrew Posted July 17, 2005 Author Posted July 17, 2005 Anyone out there? Anyone else having this problem with Gigabyte?
chicobrew Posted July 17, 2005 Author Posted July 17, 2005 I read a post and found the potential problem http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=200685&postcount=1 One of my sticks is XMS3202v1.1 the other is XMS3202v2.1 These worked perfectly on my other MOBOard. Why not on this one? Is this the actual problem? The system still crashes with one stick.
chicobrew Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 No RMA response or Forum response. Comeon guys. I know there is a lot of posts but can someone help me
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted July 19, 2005 Corsair Employee Posted July 19, 2005 chicobrew I am sorry for the delay, but we are not open on the weekends. Our hours are from 8:30AM-5:30PM pacific Time Monday Thru Friday excluding holidays. And for this MB and or platform the modules would need to be exactly matched. I would test the modules one ata time with http://www.memtest.org and lets make sure one is not failing and that both have the same timimgs set in the SPD. And I would set the Dim Over Voltage Control to +.2 Volts as well.
