DillMalone Posted Thursday at 12:57 PM Posted Thursday at 12:57 PM I just received a brand new K70 Max and I've tried to change the lighting effects using iCUE, however it doesn't seem to register any change even if I select all keys. Only like one key actually seems to be affected whilst the rest are staying on a default colour (which in my case is red). I've noticed that the lighting effects change only when I enable device memory mode, but never when it is not enabled. I've tried looking this issue up and couldn't find another instance of this exact issue so no idea what to do.
c-attack Posted Friday at 07:31 PM Posted Friday at 07:31 PM You probably need to show us a screen shot of the K70 Max Lighting effects page in CUE. Make sure you apply the lighting effect to the KB keys using the quick buttons (ALL, WASD, etc). or CTRL + Left Click drag to apply the effect over specific sections. If you just left click somewhere, it will deactivate all other keys except the one you just clicked. "Device Memory Mode" is a tool for saving lighting effects and key assignments to the keyboard. Those are in operation when CUE is not running. However, it's not meant to be used as an operational state. When you toggle it on, it will preview the currently saved settings.

I've selected ALL for the given effect, yet the only key that is actually affected is the one I've circled in the screenshot. It was working earlier but then it changed back to how it was prior. I've tried removing the layers and starting from scratch and still the same result currently.
c-attack Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM If you change the color of the red base layer to blue (or whatever), does it actually change on the physical KB? Does the user interface in CUE appropriately change? Occasionally a KB will lock up and the internal lighting controller gets stuck. Force updating the firmware usually resets it. Go to CUE setting > Devices and check for update on the KB. It will say up to date or latest, but reveal a three dot drop down menu with force update. The only other real tool you have is the ESC key reset (soft reset) that puts the KB back in its factory default state. Red is not it, so I’m curious where that came from. Red is often what Corsair devices do when something is wrong. https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025465031-Keyboard-Troubleshooting-Guide-Quick-Solutions-for-Common-Problems
