SonkaBonka Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Hello everyone. I am using H115i liquid cooling and HX850i digital power supply. I switched from Corsair Link software to the new iCue software. I can use all the features of liquid cooling in the new software, but the PSU's features are not active. I tried everything. I reinstalled the operating system, tried different USB cables, but to no avail. The PSU that works on Corsair Link software does not work on iCue. What am I doing wrong? Or does the HX850i PSU not support iCUE?
c-attack Posted November 27 Posted November 27 The software module is there, so it did detect the PSU on the initial install. Unfortunately this is an issue some users run into with various components after a bios update, windows update, etc. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the PSU usb cable while in Windows and powered on. Sometimes this helps the OS and software recognize the device. 1

BlaiseP Posted November 28 Posted November 28 You could try unplugging the PSU from the mains and allow the PCU to "drain" for about 10 minutes (press the PC's power button a few times during this time). When you plug it back in, see if this wakes the PSU up in ICUE. 1

The power supply is compatible and CUE 5 already downloaded the software module for it. The problem is getting the motherboard, cable, device, and software to all shake hands. Unfortunately any one of those things can break the chain. 1
SonkaBonka Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Aida 64 and old version Corsair Link recognize the device. I think there is a problem with iCue. I have been struggling with this for days, I gave up...
LeDoyen Posted November 29 Posted November 29 just to be sure, you did uninstall Link before installing iCUE? if Link is running in the background it will mess up communication. Same goes for Aida64 or HWinfo. if two or more programs try to poll the PSU at the same time, it either doesnt work or gives garbage readings. 1

I installed the operating system from scratch (Windows 11) only installed the iCue program and the result is the same.
BlaiseP Posted November 29 Posted November 29 @SonkaBonka - did you install ICUE v4.33.138 first or did you go straight to v5.21.107? I recently reinstalled Windows 11 (24H2 issue) on my machine and as a result, reinstall all programs. I installed v4.33.138 first and then used the update within ICUE (Settings>Software Update) to bring it up to date. That used to be the way it had to be done but I notice that the latest version is available for download from Corsair. You seem to have tried most everything else, maybe try giving the v4.33.138 and then do an in-place upgrade to v5.21.107 avenue a try.

LeDoyen Posted November 30 Posted November 30 last thing i can think of is that USB plug on the PSU that has a tendency to work itself loose at times, it really doesn't grip the cable in place at all, but that wouldn't explain why it works fine with Link. Maybe iCUE is more agressively polling and it may reveal a bad connection that you wouldn't notice with Link.. i'm splitting hair there but it's really weird. it absolutely SHOULD work. How are the AIO and the PSU connected on USB? each on their own motherboard header? Anyway the PSU is definitely compatible, i had that exact one before moving to a 1200i and it worked just fine on iCUE 3 and 4, Aida and HWinfo.
c-attack Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I think it's probably time to contact Corsair Support. If there is something specific about the current CUE 5 version and that specific PSU, they'll need information from you. 1
