I am using the latest version.

The last time it auto-updated, it lost all of it's configuration, and sat there completely broken. I uninstalled it and started again, re-entering all configuration data.

It has been working for a few months, but now and then loses the cooling preset applied to each fan.  When it does, the fields in preset selection that appears with each fan will go blank. The presets themselves are still fine, only the individual selections for the fans have gone blank. This happens for all the fans. The fans still follow a presets, but oddly they all follow the same preset.  The first thing I know about it is that the fans are over-revving and the PC is making too much noise. A quick check and all the preset selections are gone. If I then go through all the fans, selecting the a preset, then everything works for some time until they disappear again.

I'll be honest here. I find it really distressing the way that critical system cooling keeps failing thanks to iCUE.  I really like the software, but it is amazing how often it fails.  This is the second time this the fourth time this year that it has either partially lost configuration or completely died.

This was a somewhat common problem with versions 5.14-5.17 after a substantial update with the leading version.  Which version are you currently using?  Which device/controller is showing this behavior?

Hello, and thanks for the reply.

Darn it, I updated it yesterday, so I can't tell you which one it was that failed.

I have four fans in my PC, which use two profiles.  These are two back fans and two front fans.   They are configured in the order Back Fan1, 2  Front fan 1,2. There are three profiles,  1.Test,  2.Back Fans,  3.Front Fans (in that order).   Normally, the back fans are set to use the 2.Back Fans profile and the front fans are set to use the 3.Front Fans profile.

I notice there is a problem when the front fans are running noisily (too fast).  All the fans seem to be running profile 2. When I check iCUE, the fans configuration is wrong. All the fan settings, for which profile to use, are blank. They can not be configured to be blank, so I know it wasn't me!!! Setting them back to what they are supposed to be and everything works as normal.

They can operate as normal for months, then suddenly the problem will happen again.

Without a history, I can only assume that it was 5.14 to 5.17.

OK, see if things are now remain stable on 5.20.  A lot of controllers (AIOs, Commanders, CUE Link controllers) were doing the blank out, undefined parameter thing in those early versions after the change in 5.14.  Several were corrected each update and some of the older AIOs were the last in 5.18.  I have not seen much of this since then, but it was most certainly a software issue and not hardware.
