Hi,

Fyi, config is :

- xc7 rgb elite waterblock

- icue link hub

- xd5 rgb elite pump/reservoir

- hardline tubing

- MB Asus x870e Hero

- CPU : amd 9950x

- thor 1200w

- noctua fans & corsair rads

I’m new to watercooling but took time to set everything up. Put some thermal grizzly kryonaut paste on the CPU, checked for leaks as read in the manual, etc. but when i turned on the PC, the temp rapidly grew up to 62-63 degrees and « cooler overheating » for the liquide temp. and 84 degrees for CPU despite the fact that i was just in the bios (not yet installing OS), and it takes time to cool down. Dunno if i put too much thermal paste ? Screwed the waterblock too tight ? Any problem with the pump/flow (it did fill the tubes but can’t say if it is really working or not, if liquid is blocked, etc.) ?

Any help would be much appreciated as I don’t want to damage the CPU and dunno what to do to diagnostic/fix the issue.

It’s going to be a pump or flow issue. The liquid temp is not affected by poor cpu/cold plate contact, TIM choice, mount tension or anything else like that. A couple things to look at:

1) make sure the XD5 Elite is in “pump fill” or max mode. That switch is under the bottom of the unit on the left side. See the manual. It’s very hard to access and flip back and forth. If impossible to access, see if you can get to windows and CUE so you can set a manual 4800 rpm speed.

2) You’ve got a plumbing issue. Somewhere a valve is closed, tube routes to the wrong port, or some other physical reason water can’t flow. We need pictures to try and spot the problem.

Thank you so much for your help. Problem(s) solved. Actually you were right on another comment/post you made, it was indeed the switch which was on pos. 2 + drivers conflict.

Next step : take care of an issue between the bios and dominator DRAM….

Thanks again !
