Cornerbog
Sorry if this should have gone in iCUE, but it’s not an issue related to iCUE but instead the actual hardware and technical parts of getting a build together. I’ve got a new build coming together. I’m going to be using a 5000D case which has the capability to run three 120mm fans on the side, the front and the top (9 in total). As part of my build I’ve purchased the iCUE H150i Elite Capellix XT 360mm AIO cooler which will come with the Commander Core, and I’ll be purchasing a 3 pack of iCUE AF120 RGB fans that will come with the Lighting Node Core. I’ll also be purchasing a 3 pack of iCUE AR120 to finish filling the last 3 spots of the total 9 (just cheaper than buying more AF120s and I don’t have an issue with them) but then comes my question. Will the provided Commander Core and Lighting Node Core be enough to control all 9 fan’s RGB as well as their speed?
Solution c-attack Posted October 8 Solution Share Posted October 8 It will be when combined with the PWM hub circuit board in the 5000D. It’s effectively a powered splitter for 6 fans. With 9 total, you likely put the front 3 and side 3 on the PWM hub for speed control. That has a PWM lead to connect to any Commander Core fan header. They all will run the same speed. Top 3 fans and rear exhaust(?) will go directly to the Com Core PWM ports. RGB will be split between the two devices and these will be two separate lighting groups. You need a group of six and a group of three.
