So, tried AGAIN.

Yet another 'clean install' - this time back to  v4.33.138 - where I do have control of my RAM lighting.

allowed update to 5.19.104 (but it says 5.1.13.10 was available, but it has updated to 5.19.104) and control of RAM lighting is lost again.

I am not the only one with this problem, which seems to have appeared around May this year, see

CORSAIR!!!!! JUST LET US DOWNLOAD EARLIER VERSIONS OF iCUE 5!!!!

The post your linking is from 6 months ago and a specific issue affecting all RAM kits after the UI changeover, lighting staying on when in sleep mode.  Contact Corsair Support.

This update has caused my Scuf Envision Pro paddles to lag when connected to the iCUE software. They work fine without iCUE running but lag using iCUE even when connected using a cable. There is no way to roll back or install an older version so  I now have to wait for a fix or buy a new controller.

Booted up PC, corsair services are freezing the system and causing stalls every here and there, whenever the process is terminated or machine is rebooted, the system is stable again.

icue version: 5.19.104

commander: same version

5.19.104 did a real number on me.. After updating from 1.18 my LINK hub does not even show up in the software anymore, and neither do any of the 6 QX fans I have connected.

I've tried reinstalling, repairing, clean installing, removing possibly conflicting apps, disconnecting and reconnecting the hub.. nothing works.

It does detect it at some level - in the software update panel it exists, and if I remove it from there it automatically reinstalls itself, only to disappear again. The fans are running as long as I keep the hub connected, but they are running at a much higher speed than I normally have it set as, thus making more noise than I want.

For the love of all that is holy - PLEASE let us roll back to previous versions. Having to wait now until a patch comes which may or may not fix the problem is just beyond stupid. My product no longer functions as advertised because of an update you forced on me, and there is no way to undo it. Ridiculous.

I have submitted a ticket #2007716004 as well.

Hello! I am facing up the same issue (since half a month) regarding qmlrenderer.exe (5-6% CPU consumption) and one of the two RAM sticks not lighting up at every PC reboot. I did not face these problems till ICUE 5.19.104  update. Some of you above blame NVIDIA for this situation but I am not so sure for this.. I have already done many clean uninstallations (delete all corsair folders, delete registry keys as well and also used revouninstaller) - installations of ICUE and clean uninstallations - installations of my NVIDIA 3080 (via DDU and GEFORCE.exe reinstall) as well, but the problems are not gone...I have just updated my GPU and these 2 problems still exist (my MOBO is ASUS ROG STRIX X570F GAMING).. As a temporary solution I used device memory save via ICUE app and turned all murals off...

To sum up, these bugs are clearly due to ICUE recent  update  and it's a shame not to have been resolved yet

You should probably read the corresponding thread here.  It's clearly the driver and rolling back to the previous driver eliminates the issue.  Most users were already on 5.19 when the driver update happened.  It was not an issue before and it's not an issue when running 561.09.  There are significant other issues affecting that driver if you care to read the very long driver feedback thread at Nvidia.

Just updated to 566.03 and the CPU problem is still there. Downgrade to 561 again... 🙄 hope the next version of icue will fix this

just read to another thread that

Nvidia has recognized this as a known issue in today's 566.03 release, so hopefully a fix is coming soon.

yes but icue should take this issue under consideration as well so as to be solved completely as soon as possible..

I am sure Corsair is looking for a solution and I was concerned to see another driver from that branch roll out yesterday without a correction.  Unfortunately, I think that means Nvidia is putting this back on software developers to change their programming to match Nvidia's change.

I wanted to buy some Corsair Ram sticks but it uses ICUE software to run it. So that being said can I set my ram to XMP from the motherboard without the need to use ICUE. Thanks

Simple answer, Yes

Ok perfect so the ram will work just fine without ICUE.

The RAM physically works without CUE. All RAM timings are through the BIOS. RGB lighting is through CUE.

I change nothing and now have a new bug and after every boot the lighting goes crazy and the hook is always gone! 😞

I agree, I wrote here months ago, finally offer offline installers again and above all at least 5 or 10 versions so that you can go back to the old version if necessary. What's with the stupid online installer, never understood it.

Hello, just wanted to add my report to the thread.

Specs:

- 7950x3D

- 4090 on driver v566.03

- iCUE v5.16.106

- 2x32GB Dominator Titanium EXPO edition

- Using iCUE exclusively for the RAM LEDs

Outcome:

- "Corsair iCUE Component" uses from 9 to 12% of CPU, as reported by Task Manager. It's using the 4090 for rendering.

- When I open the iCUE app, a notification pops up saying "Failed to start iCUE service"

- Restarting iCUE service does nothing, nor does closing and re-opening

- In the iCUE settings, the "software updates" section is empty, whereas previously it was populated

This happens both with and without Murals, as long as iCUE is running.

That part is expected and noted above and in recent “high cpu use threads”. You also confirmed it’s not a 5.19 issue as most of us knew. Would be interesting check 4.33 as it might have a different version of Q-render service but also not useful to any one with new gear since Jan 2023. You need to roll back to the Nvidia 561.09 driver.

This suggests file corruption. Try the easy fix first - repair install. Go to Windows Settings> Apps and find Corsair iCUE. Click on the drop down menu at the end of the line and choose “modify”. Follow the prompts for a repair install. This does not erase profiles or settings.

If it does not resolve the service error, then the problem in likely in a deeper set of CUE files. You’ll need to do a full clean install. This does erase everything. Profiles can be exported and imported back. Murals and images do not.

Hi c-attack, thanks for the reply!

I had already tried to repair the installation with the "modify" option, but nothing changed.

As for rolling back the Nvidia GPU driver, I'd rather just keep iCUE closed on my machine until they can update and resolve the issue, since I'm only using if for RAM LEDs which I don't really need anyways.

I doubt the service error is separate to the rest of the issues since it happened with the exact same update, and I hadn't made any other changes to my OS since - but I'll try the fresh install option if I have time and get back to you.

Sorry If I'm using the quoting function wrong, I'm new to this 🙂

It is not the best option but given that you face such problems mentioned above (if you want to full uninstall and reinstall Icue), you can use revouninstaller (doing inside the app an advanced clean) in normal mode of your PC (not in safe mode)...I totally agree, although, that the best way to uninstall ICUE app, is the recommended by c-attack user....I suspect that something is wrong with your app, that's why I insist on using revouninstaller.

But, keep in mind that If you do so VIA REVO, then ICUE may not be viewable in notifications panel (as it happened to me)..It will work, it will run at startup, but maybe ICUE icon will not appear in notifications panel (down in notifications panel on your right hand of your desktop).. i fixed that using revo again to uninstall - reinstall via official ICUE page... That means, the best way is via apps and features, but if you see such problems then use revo...

I've disabled all automatic update after the 5.17.104 fiasco. Not sure if I'll ever update this software again, at least not until the current version starts giving me problems. The fact that we can't rollback the software is idiotic at best. This feature needs to be implemented immediately. I'd also like to point out that this comment was proven to be false given the current version numbers:
