Corsair H115i Elite Capellix AIO - Pump Failure & Fans at 100%, Need Help!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a frustrating issue with my Corsair H115i Elite Capellix AIO cooler. Last night, I booted up my desktop for some gaming, and I was greeted with a BIOS error saying CPU fan not detected. I disabled CPU fan monitoring in the BIOS, but then things got worse: my AIO fans and pump ramped up to 100%, and both started blinking red.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Opened Corsair iCUE, and it reported a pump failure, yet my CPU temperature stays around 40°C.

Power cycled my system, uninstalled and reinstalled iCUE.

Force-updated the firmware via iCUE—no change; the error keeps showing up.

Double-checked all the connections to the cooler, the Commander Core, and the motherboard (including the USB header and SATA power).

Tried plugging the USB cable into a different header, but still no luck.

Fans and pump continue to run at 100%, blinking red in iCUE, and the pump shows as failed.

Despite all this, my CPU temp seems fine, but the pump failure warning won’t go away, and the constant loud fan noise is driving me crazy!

Has anyone else had this issue or any ideas on what else I can try? Should I consider a hardware RMA at this point, or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

You need to contact Corsair Support.  The "false pump fail" issue on that model is a known condition and likely linked to a failed tachometer circuit.  While the pump is still running, it reports a null value and CUE and your BIOS think it has stopped.  As you've seen this locks up the controls and all devices on the Commander Core become inaccessible. This is a hardware issue and requires a unit replacement.

Once Corsair approves your RMA, ask for the "advance RMA" where they ship you a new unit first on credit card hold.  That should cut your down time.  For now, you can't do much with the controller.  Fan PWM connectors can be moved to the MB to regain control.  You'll still be stuck with the red flashing unless you have a Lighting Node Core or something else lying around to take care of RGB control.

*You also can disconnect the RGB connector on your fans to reduce the red flashing. The pump led will keep at it, but that’s a bit more tolerable than a full case of fans doing the same.
