vtechhiltz
I don't know if I am the only one who wants this but the Device Memory Mode profile like rgb and fans profiles used to have the option to use the cpu and gpu temp sensors to control fan speed. You can know only use the temp probes you have connected to the commander pro or commander core ( i only have the pro version so don't know if this also affects the core model ). I would love to have the ability to use the cpu temp sensors to control fan speed rather then the temp probes that come with the commander pro when using the Device Memory Mode profile. First picture is of the Device Memory Mode options, second is of the options with Device Memory Mode turned off. My reasoning for asking about this, is so that I have better control of the fan speed and by extension, the overall sound of my system, as when using the temps probes I need to have the the fans spinning faster to keep similar temps to the cpu temp sensor controlled fans. Hope this makes sense. I am using ver. 5.18.106 for iCUE and the latest firmware for the Commander Pro hub ( again v. 5.18.106) Edited September 10 by vtechhiltz added to main topic body
c-attack
Unfortunately this really just a clean up of older features. Previously the controllers automatically saved your CUE software fan curve to the device for use when CUE wasn’t running. The problem is the controller can’t fetch data from another device (like GPU temp) without the software to fetch it. Older controllers like the Commander Pro would max out with these unavailable variables. The Com Core/XT would sit there quietly but not follow your software curve either. The current version accurately shows what the controller can do in DM Mode (hardware mode). CPU temp is one of the worst case fan control variables you can choose. It’s volatile and has no direct relationship to case ambient temperature — the value you are attempting to control with your case fans. CPU temp control only makes sense for a small cpu air cooler and its fans. We can help you set up a steady, quiet fan curve from a temp sensor, buts it’s more than I can peck out on a phone right now.
