Hardware Settings Not Working When Shutting Down

Recommended Posts

For some reason when I shutdown my pc with icue running the hardware settings don't come back

I have watercolour effect when icue is running and it should revert to solid red when not running

Same for pump speed should be quiet when icue is running and balanced when not

But when I shut the pc the water colour affect freezes and the pump speed stays the same

Also when the pc starts the fan lights a white for a few seconds when again hardware lighting is set to red

Any thoughts on what's going on really don't want to have to reinstall windows if possible

Device list?  There are a couple of components that are having trouble dropping into HW mode quickly.  RAM, LS100, LT100 are commonly mentioned.  The fans go white?  CUE Link device or something else?

  • 5 weeks later...

For some reason the rgb on my

AIO (Pump & Fans) & RAM just freeze when the pc shuts down rather than go to the device memory setting which is solid red

When the PC boots they are on that setting then go to the icue settings when that starts

Had the pc with company that made it (for other issues) and even after reinstalling windows and icue its still happening anyone else getting this & if so any news on a fix

Specs

Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)

CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler

3 x Corsair ICUE LINK QX120 RGB PWM Fan + Controller Kit

The QX120 fans work fine its the other 3 that have the issue

This has been an issue since Device Manager Mode was introduced with CUE 5.14, but you should be seeing improvements in 5.18 and most of these behave as expected in the next release.

CUE has been having difficulty releasing it's own hardware back into DM Mode when you restart, shutdown, etc.  Interestingly, if you manually quit CUE it releases as expected.  You should see v5.19 later this week.

Even if I end task in task manager for icue it still just freezes

Don't know of this helps but if I quit manually in the task bar it all works correctly

It's only when shutting down the pc it freezes

That is the expected behavior right now, although not deliberate.  You should see a behavior change next release.

They rarely make official statements of that type.  It has been a noted issue since the Device Manager Mode was introduced in 5.14.  This is also the root cause in all the threads inquiring why the RAM won't turn off in Sleep Mode when set to static black in DM Mode.

Ok thanks

Weirdly just as I shut the pc down everything worked fine I terms of not freezing but next time nope back to freezing

Also keyboard hardware lighting not being saved now for some reason

I'm guessing these are also known issues

KBs with multiple save slots seem to default back to profile #1 regardless of how you left it the prior time (how it worked before).  I have not seen much talk about this and was starting to wonder if I was the only one who noticed or if it was KB model specific.  My K70 MAX was doing this consistently since 5.14.  Which KB model do you have?

Corsair K55 RGB PRO Wired Gaming Keyboard - Black

I have tried saving it on my laptop using CORSAIR iCUE v4.33.138 and that seems to have saved it correctly

That might be something else. The K55 line is tricky with limited onboard storage in the models from the original K55 (none) to Pro XT (some). Your Pro is in the middle and I can remember if you have actual save slots on that or not. It might be pre-programmed lighting effects in hardware mode (DM Mode).

Yeah I used the older icue that's on the website and it's saved it correctly now so seems to be the latest icue issue maybe

Which device is still hanging?  The AIO Elite Capellix and any fans on the Commander Core?

I don't run that model and haven't seen other recent complaints about it, but I'll try and get a Commander Core hooked up and test this week.

Just ended icue in task manager everything freezes other than the RAM (which went back to device memory setting)

If i quit ICUE manually via icue quit option they all correctly go the device memory setting, shutdow also doesnt work at all either
