Scimitar Lighting Broken

Recommended Posts

iCUE 5.17.110 (and the previous update that was pulled) broke the lighting schemes for the Scimitar RGB Elite mouse. All the lighting on the mouse is off. The previous iCUE version, 5.16.75, worked fine. When I turn off and exit iCUE the mouse goes back to the default lighting that it was shipped with so the problem is with the newest iCUE update 5.17.x.

Oh god, i'm not the only one. my scimitar worked fine with the previous iCUE version ( 5.16). I've updated her today, and all the light are now off, but on another PC, with oldest version of ICUE, the rgb go ON again. Corsair, why ICUE update have always an issue ?.

Exactly the same issue and the same behaviour for me.

Same problem, but if reduce the brightness of the backlight to 33%, it turns on

Bless you! I thought I'd tried everything but this worked for me too.

Tried the 33% lighting setting but my lights didn't come back on.

Also made an account just to chime in, had the same issue, and this luckily fixed it for me as well for the time being! Sorry to hear that it doesn't work for the OP, hopefully Corsair fixes this soon.

Having the same issue. suspecting it was the windows 11 update. But also not only the lights on my mouse is messed up, but the remaping of the keys doesnt work. the extention wont load no matter what i do. the mouse jsut seems dead. Really frustrating as this is my favorite mouse. but there is so many consistent issues. Really frustrating...

Haven't had an issue other than the lighting, but I can confirm the lighting problem isn't a Windows 11 thing, I'm on Windows 10.

I came here with the same issue like every one else here, obviously. This 33% workaround was successful for me. I am using Windows 10 pro.

I plugged in my older yellow Scimitar RGB pro (wich i liked more, btw.) and it worked normal. Also when i tested ICue 4, the Scimitar RGB Elite had no RGB problem.

Thanks to Ansone and every one else, who is trying to be helpful.

The iCUE v5.18.106 release notes have just been published. Under Known Issues it states:

Quote
  • Some versions of SCIMITAR RGB may not display lighting correctly due to incorrect slider values for Brightness – for those users who are affected, a workaround can be done by moving the slider to the “33%” – this will re-enable the lighting for you while we fix this in the next version
