Lazertk
Hello just built my new pc and managed to get it to post and boot up to windows but only managed to get it to work with 1 ram slotted in the B2. Tired to get it to post and boot with 2 sticks of ram A2 and B2 but does post or booth and the qcode is 12 then switches to 28 like 3 mins after. But RGB is on for both so I know it works and slotted the second ram stick in B1 just to confirm it works and its recognised in the bios menu. Went into the bios menu and enabled xmp and switched to intel default settings to see if that would help with the issue but it didn't do anything to resolve it for dimm slot A2. Checked the motherboard for memory compatibility and the ram is compatible with it so I know that's not an issue. Read on previous forums that other people had the similar issue with Corsair dominator titanium ram kits on Asus motherboards and was wondering if you could help me. muvo
I can reassure you, I installed the Asus Z790 E WiFi and the Dominator Titanium RGB 64 GB 6600 MT/s CL32 (CMP64GX5M2X6600C32W) and everything works. I would suggest that you use the 1st stick and update the bios ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II BIOS 1301to the version. Then insert the 2 stick so that slot A2/B2 is occupied. Then you activate xmp. In your case I would activate the XMP2 for 6200 MHz.
Lazertk
I've updated the bios to the latest version already before I installed all the components so that running fine. Just changed the xmp to xmp 2 and 6200 MHz but still no post. Ram is seated correctly.

c-attack
So neither RAM module is detected in A2, but both are detected when in the B2 slot? Unfortunately that seems like a motherboard problem with the RAM slot. If it was the RAM, it would be an easier resolution.
Lazertk
So what would that mean would I have to do a RMA return and get a new board sent out to me then.
c-attack
Unfortunately yes. If you have the option to exchange the MB with the purchase vendor, definitely go that path rather than through Asus. Do make sure you swap the two sticks in A/B2 to confirm neither is detected in A2. Swapping the motherboard isn’t very fun.
muvo
What firmware does the memory actually have? First try to run the memory in a1/b1 or a2/b2 in the factory settings (without xmp) (also swap the memory once. If only one memory is recognized, please contact Asus Support.
ELLO_GOVNRS
I've had a very similar issue for the past year where my Vengeance RGB will not work with my Asus z790 MB. I tried every combination with four different sticks (two from one kit and two from an RMA replacement) and only one variation would allow for the system to even post. Even then, it only detected one of the two modules. I RMA'd every single component except for the GPU; even upgraded my PSU. Nothing worked. Updated Bios as well. I finally just tried a third kit for fun and I was able to get it to post with two modules and both registered. However, it will not post with xmp on. So, here I am with six modules, only two are viable, and I have no idea what the problem is. I don't even care anymore.
