SajuukCor
I updated from a Corsair VOID Wireless headset to the HS80 Max. Everything seemed to be going okay until I found this sound delay bug, a bug that many people have been experiencing for years not just on the "HS" line of headsets from Corsair. The headset seems to have a passive "sleep" mode when very low or no sound is played for about three seconds. Afterward when a sound is played it ramps up from 0% volume to 100% over two seconds. It's very infuriating trying to flip all the switches for the headset to get it to constantly accept any sound from the computer. For once this isn't an iCUE issue because it still happens when iCUE is closed, even in Safe Mode, making it more likely the headset has a built-in sleep-mode outside of the 10-minute auto-shutoff option in iCUE. The issue happens with spatial sound disabled or enabled, including Dolby Atmos. You can have a video at 1% volume and hear when the sound cuts completely out even though there's constant sound playing. The dongle and headset are on the latest firmware. The firmware has since been forcibly updated on each device. The dongle has been on USB 2.0 ports and USB 3.0 ports. The headset has been soft-reset. The devices have been removed from Device Manager and, even though it isn't the problem, iCUE has been uninstalled and thoroughly cleaned out of the computer before reinstalling. I never had this problem on the VOID Wireless and from what I've read it's been a problem on the "HS" and "Virtuoso" headset lines by Corsair for years. Can we get this issue looked at and possibly have a firmware update to either remove the issue or at least turn the sleep-mode off? I don't care if a few hours of battery life are lost if I can hear sudden needed sounds in stealth games or the first couple words during a voice call. SajuukCor
Bump and a note that iCUE v5.16.75 has not helped the issue.
SajuukCor
Another bump with information that the two iCUE v5.17.x updates did not provide any solution or update to fix this issue.
bren002
I have the same problem with the HS80 Max
PollexMessier
Really disappointed by this. I spent so much time trying to find a headset in my price range that fit with what I want, only to get hit with this absolutely ridiculous BS. If every one of these has this issue I'm shocked they even got to the mass production stage at all. It's unacceptable. I'd rather it have half the battery life than this issue. SajuukCor
I want to add that the issue has been even more of a nuisance than first thought, and that if I would have been dealing with these issues I would have chosen another headset from another manufacturer. I can have the sound on my computer at 20% and the issues still happens. I can be watching a streamer that has low background music on and the audio cuts out. I can be playing a game with ambient sounds and music and it will cut out. I'll be on Discord and I can't hear when friends talk to me because it's in the sound delay window. An acknowledgement of this issue would be at least something.
Timmetie01
Same issue here. I'm trying to figure out if I should get these replaced by the same (Which I would prefer since everything else about this headset is great) or if I should return these and just get another brand. If this issue is with all the HS80 Max's I would be disappointed and confused, how do you even ship this product? For anyone from Corsair: in the thread linked below the issue is explained as well, and it has a video which has a specific point on which the audio cuts out for evey HS80 Max user. JackJ
I am also having this issue. When using discord for example i also have it when people speak to me, i do not hear the first 2-3 seconds of their voice sometimes. On that test video posted in the other thread (Dawid Podsiadło, P.T. Adamczyk — Phantom Liberty (Official Cyberpunk 2077 Music Video) (youtube.com)) my audio cuts out in the first few seconds. It's a shame a product that is describing itself as premium fails to deliver on something so fundamental. Is it possible we can even get a comment from Corsair on this issue? Every thread I've checked, they've never even commented on the problem, this is probably the last time I ever consider purchasing something Corsair.
