coolsti
Hi, I am building a new PC and chose the 5000D ICUE airflow which comes with three fans (AF120 RGB Elite I believe), a PWM hub which the three fans are plugged into, and a separate RGB hub. I will build this with the Ryzen 9 7900 CPU and an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk motherboard, and an RTX 3060 graphic card. This is not a power consuming build and so I do not believe I have need to put in more fans or purchase the additional Corsair controllers for the fans. I would just like to get fan speed control working somehow, either from the BIOS or from a app running from Windows 10, without purchasing additional Corsair fan control hardware. I have been searching the internet for videos and how to's but all I seem to find are descriptions of much more complex systems. Can anyone point me to a good site showing how to set this up as I describe? Or can give me a quick how to? So far I just left the three fans as they came with the case, plugged into the PWM controller, and I plugged the PWM controller into one of my motherboard sys fan headers. I see from internet searches that some people have had difficulties getting the fan speed control to work with this configuration. Thanks for any advice and help! The PWM hub is effectively a powered splitter. Any fan connected to the hub will run the same speed as directed by the control header — the mother system fan control. You likely have additional motherboard fan headers and those can handle any remaining fans. 3 fans is a bit much to put on most 1.0A motherboard fan headers, so the PWM hub is serving a purpose in removing electrical load from that one MB fan header.
