johnrxx99
Hi, I've been searching for an answer to a problem I've encountered upgrading my DRAM to 4 sticks of3200Mhz 8GB Vengance Pro from the 2 exisiting ones. The motherboard is as above and the CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X. Currently sticks are in a2 and b2. When I add a new one to a1 the PC posts OK but if I add the second new one to b1 the PC won't post. The new ones have samsung flash modules whereas the old ones have another make. All 4 are undamaged as I've tried them in all combinations including the different flash modules and all read 1600Mhz in CPU-Z. So far my research suggests only 2 sticks can be used but has anyone else run into this and what is their experience? I've tried to check with the Asus website but as usual the site has problems!! Many thanks for reading
LeDoyen
mixing kits is the problem. The mother board could run on 4 sticks but only if they were from the same matched kit. When you use two different kits, or even two kits of the same part number, you will have to do a lot of manual tweaking to manage to get them working together. you'll be better off getting a kit of 2x 16gb instead of running 4x8, and will be able to use faster memory too compared to what you can achieve with 4 sticks.
