Geoclasm
My current build in progress will run with the above mentioned PSU. At some future time, I plan to max out my SATA ports with SSD drives (because why not, and I already have 5 M2 drives) on my build. The SSD I'm looking at is the 870 QVO, which has a maximum draw of 3.5W (according to a quick google search). I'm planning to chain 3 to a single SATA power cable, which would put the max draw for one cable at 10.5W. That feels pretty safe for a single cable, but I just want to make certain that future me isn't going to burn these things out. So - will it be safe to use 3 of these SSDs on a single SATA power strip with the AX1600i?
DevBiker
3.5W at what voltage? Each rail on the SATA power connection (3.3V, 5V, 12V) is rated for 4.5A. So even if that's on the 3.3V rail (I doubt it; I think it's on the 5V rail), you aren't even coming close to the rated load. And the cables should handle the full load on each rail (which will never happen).
