KaiHarrod
:o: I give UP!!! I've read so many forum threads now and tried 'solutions' to no avail. :[pouts: All crumble to BSOD the slayer  Here's my problem :- nothing clocked (never really seen the point  ) AN7 nforce2 MCP-T AMD XP 2600 (166x12.5) MSI FX5200 TDR XXX 512mb 3200 333mhz, 2.5-3-3-7, 'Premier Ram' WD SATA 160gig Maxtor 120gig ATA100 All runs sweet as a nut no problems for the last 6 months+ Month ago me thinks -"treat myself to some 'Quality' gig of ram" Purchase TWINX 1024 3200LLPT ...."sweet" you say. And so the Nightmare begins...... as with many of the threads left everything set as standard .... AN7 correctly identified 333mhz, 2-3-2-6, 2.6v Boots to XP all runs fine as long as you don't try to open app other than explorer! Anywhere between 10 secs & 10 mins max leads to BSOD etc etc.... Particularlly doesn't like Internet Explorer (like us all ! ) I've seen all the symptons elsewhere in the forum - Strange graphics on screen, MS Support 'Graphics Card Driver failure', stuck threads, 'Memory Allocation does not exist', Files corrupting, the lot. OK on my road to dispair I bought a AOpen 6600GT thinking perhaps my FX5200 had got stuck in a rut, ( :D: good excuse), Updated every driver, BIOS for everything, disconnected my Maxtor & CDRW for more power, I've tried every CAS setting you can on the mobo and must admit it's slightly more stable running 2.5-2-2-11 with 2.8v. Both Sticks run clear tests with memtest86 1.6 on their own and together, hour after hour. Even tried running them in my friends new AOpen XCube P4 3ghz with Intel 865G mobo, MSI FX5200 and get the same BSOD! BUT IT STILL WON'T RUN WITHOUT BSOD!  As soon as I put the XXX back in it all runs fine???? The  Villians  in question are - 2 x (CMX512 3200LLPT, XMS3205v1.2, #0332065-0) Please help RAM GUY you're my only hope? IS this an NFORCE2 issue?

And to prove it is mem only ...I've just played Call of Duty for 5hrs solid with not one BSOD with my old (O.C.Z.) ram installed..... go figure
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 29, 2005 And what did you have the bios settings set to with our modules and did you load setup/optimized defaults when you chnaged the memory?
KaiHarrod
which BIOS settings ... always as standard, don't overclock only changes are standard stuff like boot order, AGP card for VGA, I even reset the cmos and checked the mem settings were correctly identified. CPU 166mhz x 12.5 AGP 66mhz DRAM 333mhz tried CAS at 2-3-2-6, 2.5-3-2-6, 2.5-3-3-11 (most stable) ... my OCZ is still running fine I even left it on over night to download 3d mark 05 from the net no issues? reason it's taking me this long to get to solving this is I've been on hols for 2 weeks.
