I use also 24.7.1 version + AMD chipset drivers from amd website but sleep mode or hibernation doesnt work correctly( I have black screen and overheating of laptop( Very strange problem. Do u know any solution how fix this? Maybe it is a Windows bug or AMD drivers problem? Many thx for help!

I have not encountered any issues using the Corsair chipset driver and the 24.7.1 version.

I do have a lot of bugs with the latest icue update I'll try to roll back. But sleep is not one of them. Normally I torn off my laptop if I need to travel but if I close the lid it normally goes to sleep after a bit.

Honestly Corsair needs to release some sort of actually signed Driver for the display that we can install to get this sorted out. I installed the .inf and it works for me. Having done the DDU + .inf from the OP I'm got the latest drivers from AMD at the moment.

It shouldn't be that difficult. It's one of the biggest problems with the machine, the inability to just update drivers like any other PC. Even my Thinkpad Z16 can do it and that's also a AMD Advantage Machine (AMD GPU and AMD CPU.)

I believe that the overheating problem comes from the new amd chipset, I did have some problems with the latest version of it because sometimes the system throttled hard without the temps being that high, when going back to the corsair chipset driver everything seems way more stable when gaming.

It also could depend on the situation, bare in mind that all this happened to me during summer and having a average temp in my room of 28-30c (yes is hot), if I moved to the living room and turned on the AC to at least 24c everything went smooth. So take care of your devices on hot weather.

I did also disable the cpu boost and honestly the system is overall way cooler and the performance loss is minimal.

All this testing was made with repaste (ptm7950) so I belive that is not paste related. So if you plan to blast all the power to have the best performance, take into consideration the room temperature of where you are playing.

Also ptm7950 seems to lower the overall temps of gpu and cpu but not to much (maybe 2-5c Celsius if you're maxing the laptop) but it does something different, the gpu achieve higher clock speeds (2500mhz) and the cpu sustain more stable clock speeds at the boost speed (around the 4.4-4.7ghz) so if you're interested in repasting consider to limit those clocks for better temps and more stable experience.

Glad it's working, and yes Corsair and AMD are the only responsibles for this mess. It's even more sad that it seems that they're not going to update it anymore. This chassis with a 4000 series Nvidia gpu would be way better, thanks to the efficiency of those chips.

If you intend to keep updating the drivers everytime a new update rollout, I would recommend to try my solution, not only it does provide you with the 240hz option covered, it also let you add newer presets like 90-120 or even 165hz if you're on battery but don't want to deal with the 60hz, another additional benefit is that the higher hz got better color depth with the 240hz reaching the 8 bit instead of the 6 that it normally gets.

Totally recommended.

Ok so for the solution you just basically download de CRU custom resolution software BEWARE: every time you update your drivers you will need to repeat this so if you update and see that the properties of the display changed just take that into account. Now open de cru folder and I would first recommend to click on the reset and then restart option just to have less issues when trying to search for your active panels, then open as administrator the cru application and you will have something similar to this

image.thumb.png.18fd68b93163d6b2d0dc9cc3818a8f05.png

Once you got in there you will have to repeat the exact same settings for both the displays (on the top bar the one which says active, that one is the integrated the other one should be the 6800M display that is not active but have the same name) so remember that. you just basically click on the extension blocks and delete the one that is there, then go on and add a new one, there are going to be plenty of options, I chose DisplayID 2.0 (the verison that was default was DisplayID 1.3 don't know if there is any diference but 2.0 is working great)

After you choose the display ID on the "type" option you will start to add the custom resolutions with their unique hz (just add all the custom hz in that same popup, do not create another profile of the display ID because its gonna read just one extension block), the resolution will be the native one so no need to modify it, there is a polarity option (it is default to +/-. I chose -/- because the one on the beginning was at that polarity, and again, it worked for me and polarity shouldn't do anything but just in case I changed it to match the other one and it has worked great)  and then just set the hz you wish repeat that on the same box of the displayID 2.0 until you're done, as I said before I used 60, 90, 120 and 240 BEWARE!!!!! (choose the ones you want but remember that there is a limit of profiles and a range of the hz I highly recommend staying between the 60-240 range to avoid issues DO NOT GO HIGHER OR LOWER). after that accept everything and then hit the restart option again and also, I recommend restarting the computer. Done.

image.thumb.png.f7322154fa948f64b291f62b3207f0d4.png

REMEMBER BOTH DISPLAYS so copy that profile and paste it on the other display. hope this solves all your issues.

Note: if there is something that should be corrected let me know. If someone with more knowledge knows about a more optimal settings, you can also post it here. this should fix all the issues with the display and amd drivers. remember to check for the freesync option after this just in case.

This is amazing, you are a godsend

Hey man, I made an account just to say thank you 😄

Very kind of you to share these detailed instructions. The Voyager really is a machine. Runs games wonderfully and the keyboard is great for programming. It's a shame it hasn't received the love & care it deserves during its lifespan. It just takes too long for Corsair to release compatible drivers.

Once more, thank you User3!!

Once more, thank you User3!!

Glad I'm able to help. NOTE, I just updated from 24.7.1 to 24.8.1, seems that it shouldn't require to adjust the refresh rate again using CRU (since after the update my config remained the same), just in case take a look when you update and repeat the steps of something changes, but at the time, I'm able to confirm that this could even fix the drivers issues once for all.

On the other hand, yes, Corsair really should be doing better, I believe the the could've built something interesting from this lineup, newer Nvidia 40 series, newer AMD Cpus, better driver and product support from hardware to software, better launch price. But sadly the tested the waters, didn't do well and offed the market..

I genuinely believe that they had all to create a good lineup from their brand, something similar to razer or Asus top of the line, they could've easily compete with anyone given a good time to stablish on the market, overall I believe this product was an excellent idea but not well executed, with all of that into account, even with those flaws, this product could offer reasonable arguments that proves that a corsair laptop and amd hardware could be on par with any laptop on the 3070-3070ti-3080 of the market (during that time) yes maybe could perform a bit worse, but overall it was great. But again, decisions outside of the product are mostly the culprits of such a poor campaign selling these incredible machines. Hope they learn from this but I truly doubt it.

Leaving all of this aside, I will always try to stay active, since the corsair employees with all due respect, doesn't seem to care anymore nor support this laptop, I'll be here on these forums trying to help everyone with their problems, at least a simple troubleshoot just trying to fix things, right now the drivers issues seems to be fixed, another thing I would like to improve are the thermals of the laptop, overall it behaves as a normal laptop but it tends to reach the 80s quite easily even if you disable cpu boost. If someone find a way to undervolt this laptop it could be excellent!! I'm going to try to use the program dedicated to tuning ryzen cpus and maybe gpus? (Can't remember the name of it) to at least set a custom temp limit, jut to give more longevity to the divice and sustain better performance, with everything said, wish you all well.

See you here if someone needs help.

Responding to this a bit later, I installed the latest drivers and now my display is flickering. It only does it at 240hz. It didn't do it out of the box on whatever drivers it was when I got the machine, and even going back to Corsair's Driver's on their site it's flickering at 240hz. At 60hz it's fine, and when I use DDU and it's on the basic drivers it's fine as well. It's only when I'm at 240hz that it's flickering. Anyone perhaps have a clue what's going on? Did the display become defective? It's not flickering on or off it's just flickering the image of whatever is on the display at the time.

This is the issue I'm running into now. It's actually enough to have me consider returning the unit entirely back. During one of the driver installs since I did several I even got a Bluescreen. Like I'm really trying to like the machine, it's close to perfect but Corsair really bit more than they could chew here.

Are you using the inf file? Or did you follow the steps related to the custom resolution program?

Tried without the .inf file, so just default installing the Corsair Drivers from their website, DDU'd then tried the .inf file, ddu'd again and tried the CRU Program and still does it.

It doesn't do it at 60FPS when I set it manually to it, only at 240. For CRU I only did 3 Refresh Rates. 60, 120 and 240. And it still only did it at 240.

Try and check if in your device manager the inf file still installed on your device, if not I would suggest to do an entire clean and a new windows install from a USB. Seems very weird. I've tried a lot of things but never have encountered with that.

A reinstall reinstall does the same thing as it pushes Corsair's  AMD drivers. Seems like a very sudden defect.

Doing a clean install of windows from a USB should remove every corrupt file or driver that should be doing that over your screen, if that's not the case I would suggest to see if switching from the iGPU to the 6800m could prove whether is the driver or the integrated gpu. After that if it happens on both gpus try to unplug and plog the display ribbon cable.
