Blackbeard Data
Ack! One of our Twinx 2x512 Modules went bad. BSODed our Production server! (Bad - very bad - we supply Oil and Gas data and this probably raised world oil prices $0.01) :sigh!: Confirmed which module went bad using Memtest 86. Purchased from Newegg 6 months ago - past there 30 day warrenty. Mr. Ram Guy, could I have a go ahead to apply for RMA#? -mt
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 27, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 27, 2005 Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Blackbeard Data
CMX512-3200C2PT Bios setting was 2.5 - 3-3-6. After it failed Memtest86 we slowed it down to 3-6-6-10 just to confirm. It still failed. CPU (Amd XP 2400) setting is default speed -133/266FSB. You do NOT overclock a production server! -mt, CIO
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 27, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 27, 2005 And what was the memory frequency set to? You might try these settings to be sure. CPU Freq: 133 MHz Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 133MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T Then test with http://www.memtest.org to be sure. If you do find it's still failing please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
