cappun
Hello ~ I recently moved my build into a Corsair 5000d Airflow case and everything boots up just fine. Fans work and I can play with the fan colors in iCUE. The moment I went to power down they changed red. So I powered on again to see that they were still red. They don't flash, but there's some kind of unique pattern to the red lights. I changed again in iCUE, saved my settings, went to shutdown and there it goes again. Boot up, immediately red. I've updated iCUE, but I don't really know what else to do. I've read about the pump failure message, but I'm not getting any error messages. Has anyone experienced and corrected? I'm so lost.
c-attack
Can you give more detail on the hardware? Is this an Elite Capellix AIO with a Commander Core? Different AIO? Just RGB fans and controller? The first thing that comes to mind is if you moved cases, your power delivery may have changed when you reconnected the SATA. Possible there is some kind of sequence error where the pump thinks it has lost pump power a split second before shutdown and triggers the coolant temp visual alarm. If this is a Capellix/Com Core unit, shutdown and flip the PSU off. Disconnect the SATA from PSU to Com Core, the wide cable from Com Cors to pump, and reseat the lcd top if you have one. Reconnect the cables and power on normally. That should reset the Com Core and also provide a check on power delivery . I will say the fans in question are preinstalled Corsair ones that come with the Corsair 5000d Airflow case. There's a CORSAIR Link Lighting Node PRO + Lightning Node Core Hub RGB installed in the case as well.
c-attack
OK, just fans and either a Lighting Node Core or Pro controller. Often this is another RGB program grabbing control of the fans. What the motherboard make and model? The MSI and Gigabyte programs often grab control of things they should not. It's not common on fans, but it does happen. If not, there may be an issue with the controller with the save slot. Try a forced firmware update to that controller only. You may need to redo your HW Lighting pattern after. cappun
Feels bad, but apparently in iCUE there's hardware lighting that uses a pattern/color for when the program isn't running and sure enough it was red. Changed it and now it boots and shuts down with the color of my choice. 😕 Sorry.
c-attack
Yes, that is the intended system. Hardware Lighting for when CUE is not running. "Lighting Effects" for when it is. The Hardware lighting mode is limited to 1 preset and less complex effects because it must be run from the micro controller on the RGB hub. It does have a small save space and will automatically do so as you change effects in that Hardware Lighting space. Not sure why it defaulted to red. Most of the time it goes to rainbow or water color on newer devices.
WhiskeyBravo
As of yesterday, this started happening to me as well. Have not made any changes to the hardware, haven't moved/shifted anything, nothing. The same thing happens when I shutdown my computer the light profile switches to red (which is my alert color so I thought something major was messed up) and then when I power it back on its still red and will stay that way until I manually launch ICUE or wait on my desktop for about a min. I have noticed other autorun applications (Razer, Wallpaper Engine) on my start-up have been running slower the last couple of days as well so maybe it is related. But in the past ICUE profile settings for fan's color and speed would always be set the instant it turned on. Made me think it was a software crashing issue in the shutdown process.
