Dodgeby
Is there a way to get 7.1 surround sound without the Dobly Atmos app on HS80? I just upgraded from Virtuoso, there is no 7.1 in iCUE only stereo, the manual and google searches tell me to get the Dobly app. But whenever I’m playing a game that does not support Dolby, the surround sound is just kind of left or right, no back or front. For example in War Thunder when playing tanks, the gun when looking straight ahead has no punch, like it’s muted, I have to rotate slightly to either side to hear the gun. Or in Elden Ring, when attacking enemies directly in front of me I can barely hear my weapon making contact, but I can clearly hear a dude walking 10 meters to the side. Is there a way to get the non-Dobly, iCUE fake 7.1 sound like on Virtuoso headset? Their surround sound on games that don’t support dolby atmos is incomparable. CrazyDave
It has virtual surround sound built in to the driver, always on and no way to actually turn it off. You can see it when you turn off Atmos, in the windows sound settings it shows as 8 channel. If you change it back to 2 channel it will change itself back shortly unless you quit iCue. CrazyDave
If you uninstall iCue or just never allow it to run then it will stay in 2 channel mode but if iCue is ever opened it will change back to 8 channel.
