Software Enhancements

Modular Installation

With the latest update to iCUE, we have changed how iCUE will be installed and updated. With iCUE’s new modular infrastructure, it will no longer consist of a single large package. Instead, users will be downloading a very small installer that, when started, will uninstall existing versions of iCUE and automate the downloading and installation of the necessary modules.

To address the previous experience of iCUE having a large footprint (3+ GB), we have streamlined the experience by only installing what is required to support your products. For example, if iCUE only detects a K100 RGB Air Wireless keyboard, then the software will only download two modules: iCUE Core and the K100 RGB Air Wireless module.

As a result, iCUE will no longer need to host the files to support products you currently do not own yet and will now only take up a fraction of the hard drive space compared to previous versions.

If in the future, you add more iCUE products for your setup, iCUE will automatically detect them and install the additional modules you need for the products to be fully supported. Users will also be able to choose and install specific third-party plugins from our partners that share our ecosystem.

After this update, iCUE will no longer require a complete uninstallation and installation of the software. Instead, you will only be prompted to update if there are changes to your modules or if you have new products that are supported in iCUE.

We are confident that this change to iCUE will make our platform flexible and efficient, as we continue to both improve the features in the software and make your experience a memorable one.

"Resume from sleep" issue has returned with this version. On resume, iCue is not working and can't be  managed from the tray icon. Have to use task manager to end iCue and then re-launch.

Hi Team

Thank you for this update 🚀
I would like to point out that both reddit and forums in general are full of customers complaining of serious problems with intermittent USB disconnections.

I've tried everything:
- Check on cables
- Replace splitter with Corsair USB Hub
- Disable power saving on all USB controllers
- Set performance mode on Windows
- Uninstall/Reinstall iCUE
- Try Win10 and Win11
- Reset BIOS
- Uninstall drivers
- Update to iCUE 5.1
- Revert Back to iCUE 4 and 3
- No Overclocks applied
- Check BIOS Update (All)
- Check Firmware Update (All)

Are you aware that the driver Corsair composite virtual input device is completely broken/buggy?
All clients who have iCUE installed hear a USB disconnect/connect sound every time they start windows, Mouse and Keyboard stop working..
I don't have any external USB HUB, all components are new and almost everything is Corsair branded.

Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow
MB: ASUS TUF Z790PLUS WIFI
PSU: Corsair RM1000X
CPU: Intel i9 13900K
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR5 6000Mhz 2x16GB
GPU: NVIDIA TUF RTX 4080 OC
DISK: Samsung SSD 990 PRO 1TB M.2
COOLER: Elite Cappelix H150I + LCD
KB: Corsair K70 RGB
OTHER: Corsair USB HUB + Corsair Commander CORE

The only solution to this problem is uninstall iCUE completely, but for a PC over 3K it seems ridiculous not being able to customize RGB and the expensive LCD monitor..
What happens here? Could you please fix this annoying bug you've been carrying around for years?

Great! With ICUE active, my Virtuoso RGB wireless Headset will not be found by ICUE and the dongle blinks red. When I close ICUE it turns white. It works though but I have no audio control or RGB control over my "cheap" headset.

RGB Vengance DIMMs freeze again and again. But that´s an issue since a long time now. I have to turn off the asus plugIn (asus rog strix grafic card) - now uninstall - otherwise the dimms keep freezed after the ICUE restart.

Man that´s a lot of problems for just one program. At the moment I have to use the Win11 audio options (no equalizer, no boost, crappy also for WIN). Also there is no support from the Corsair ST100. I can see audio options but the headset will not work with ST100  as standard audio output in Win11.

I hope that a very close future update (tomorrow??) will solve at least the headset problems.

Removed all my HDD Widgets (4 spinning rust and 1 nvme)  and didn't show a way to get them back. I usually can add them in "Customize Dashboard" under "System Info", but that is no longer case with v5. Reverting back to v4 until this is fixed.

Have you enabled "Storage Widget" in Settings?

Having the same issue, was surprised at how silent my rig was performing after resuming from sleep, just to find out that iCUE was completely laggy and wouldn't fetch sensor data off my AIO, GPU, CPU and fans.

You have to manually restart their CorsairService for it to work again, either in services.msc or in iCUE under General...

I'm reverting back to v4 until they fix this since I use sleep a lot.
