sdm151
I am trying to add a stick of 1Gb memory to my already existing 2x512mb. The problem is that I cannot get the BIOS to recognize all 2Gb. The 1Gb stick works fine by itself, so it's not a problem with the new module. I have tried all possible combinations of slots (it's in a Lanparty nF3 250Gb); in other words, I have put the 2x512 in slots 1/2, 1/3, 2/3 with the 1Gb stick in the remaining slot. The 512Mb is CAS 2.5 and the 1Gb is CAS 3, so I have also tried setting the timing to the higher timing of the modules (CAS 3). Any help? The 512Mb sticks are CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) - Model #: VS512MB400. The 1Gb stick is CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) - Model #: VS1GB400C3
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 23, 2005 I am sorry but you cannot mix memory on many MB's and if you do they would need to be matched in the SPD and VSXXXMB400 would be Cass 2.5-3-3-8 and VS1GB40C2 would be Cass 3-3-3-8 and would not be compatible with each other especially in a dual channel config.
