Kvantum
So I'm the idiot who forgot to check what generation his PSU was before ordering a 12VHPWR cable for his new 4090. I have an AX1000 Titanium PSU that uses type 3 cables. Can I safely use the Type 4 12VHPWR cable with it? The keying on the PSU side looks to be the same but I don't want to risk it. I was running triple PCIE cables direct to a 3090 before. Thanks.
LeDoyen
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/legacy-psu-cable-compatibility The AX titanium seem to be a type 4 PSU. AXi, yes, type 3. but anyway, type 3 PCIE and type 4 PCIE use the same pinout so it's a gooder. Above the table : Disclaimer: The only difference between Type 3 and Type 4 cables is the pinout of the 24-pin ATX cable; all other cables (SATA, PCIe, etc) are the same.
