Certain iCue Macros not working (Windows 11)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I have a Corsair K100 RGB OPX, and I'm running iCue 4.33.138.  I recently did a full format and installed Windows 11 on my machine.  Before I did this I was running Windows 10 and had no issues related to iCue.

I'm essentially trying to create an "autorun" macro for all of my games, and bind it to my G1 key.  This macro worked fine on Windows 10, however since I formatted the macro no longer works on Windows 11.

The macro I'm creating essentially is this:

G1:

  • W (Press)
  • Shift (Press)

G2:

  • W (Release)
  • Shift (Release)

This is where things get strange.  If the macro has no key release option in it the macro does not work.  However, if the macro does have a key release option in it it works just fine.

For example this works:

  • W (Press)
  • W (Release)

This also works:

  • W (Press)
  • Delay 9999ms
  • W (Release)

But the second the release option is removed the macro completely fails to work properly.

Here are the steps I've taken to troubleshoot so far:

  • Clean install of iCue per this article
  • Tried installing versions 4.27.168 (app crashes), & 4.28.174 (has same issue as current version 4.33.138, listed above)
  • Removed and re-added the macros multiple times, both to Key Assignments and Hardware Key Assignments
  • Tried different keys
  • Ran an SFC /scannow and an DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Ensured all of my drivers were up to date via my the manufacturer of my motherboard's website
  • Ensured Windows 11 is fully up to date via Windows Update

At this point I'm completely stumped what to do.  Really hope someone on this forum can assist me.  Thank you for your time!

I don't think it is an issue. Without releasing keys, macro can not be executed

Thank you for the reply!  This definitely has not been the case for me, I've been using the exact same macro for years with iCue.  Its  a simple autorun macro.

Definitely, they have changed the logic

Could you perhaps assist me with a workaround then?  I need some type of macro to indefinitely make me "autorun" (W+Left ****) until I specifiy.
