Suggestion for replacing Commander Core (CoCo) for Corsair 360mm H150i ELITE CAPELLIX WHITE RGB

Hello,

I bought this item, Corsair 360mm H150i ELITE CAPELLIX WHITE RGB and LCD display from this website two months ago, and sadly, the Commander Core is now faulty (one RGB port is not working, out of blue. The RGB fans are all working as I tested those on different ports on Commander Core apart from one faulty port.

It looks like that Corsair support won't take this issue or respond to my ticket even though I bought this from the website and the warranty period is still valid. 😕

Can anyone suggest an ideal replacement for Commander Core? Corsair doesn't sell commander core at all. It only sells Commander Pro, and Commander Core XT.

I can't recall where I read this info but I think it is from this forum? or reddit?  Anyway, it says that Commander Pro and Commander Core XT doesn't support AIO cooler and LCD display.

Is that right? If that info is wrong (ie Commander Pro and Commander Core XT do support LCD display), please let me know then.

Thanks for info/clarification and help! :)

They have to take it under warranty 🙂

Hopefully a corsair rep will see your message here and poke customer support to look back at your support ticket. They have commander core units for warranty replacements anyway.

You are sure it's the RGB port that is faulty and not the fan?

Otherwise, Reddit is right for once 😛 the commander core that comes with the AIO has a long connector on one side for the pump head. That connector is not on commander Pro or Core XT.

Hi,

Thanks for your comment - I'll wait for the support team to get back to me. Finger crossed that they will reply and take my product soon.  Yes I can confirm that it's RGB port that is faulty, I tried 9 ARGB fans on different rgb ports and they are all working except for that faulty RGB port (they wont light up at all). Seems that electronic on that faulty port is kapuw/dead somehow.

It's terrible to thinking of what happen to my aio cooler and commander core if it fails outside the warranty period, especially when Corsair doesn't sell Commander Core on their website especially when both Commander Core XT and Pro doesn't support AIO cooler and pump head. Hopefully Corsair will do something about those. Otherwise I am not exactly inspired confidently to buy corsair AIO cooler and its commander core all again if the commander core fails outside the warranty period.

Anyway, thanks for your help! 🙂

the  warranty is like 5 years, so that's pretty comfortable.

Paying by yourself for a new (expensive) controller that fails early would be a more "terrible" thought tbh 🙂 Even if it did, you could still contact the support and try to get them to sort you out with a new commander even if you had to pay for it. And you never know, business concessions do happen sometimes lol
