Trampas Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I have two 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200 which is failing memory test with XMP off, will not post with XMP on. I also noticed the memory is showing up in BIOS as 4800 not 5200. I have also updated the bios on the mother board and still having failures. Any hint about how to fix the problems? Thanks
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted February 15, 2023 Corsair Employee Posted February 15, 2023 What is the exact part number for the memory kit? Have you made sure to update your BIOS? And what exact DIMM slots are you installing the modules into?
Solution Trampas Posted February 16, 2023 Author Solution Posted February 16, 2023 I had put in A1/B1 slots and it fails. I moved to A2/B2 and they pass memory test. I contacted ASUS and their response was that I should use A2/B2 with only two dimms. They said user manual pictures suggested this, and the memory failing in A1/B1 is expected. When I asked why the bios did not warn users that system would be unstable with dimms only in A1/B1 they hung up.. Sounded like I am not the first person with this problem.....
Trampas Posted February 16, 2023 Author Posted February 16, 2023 Here is some information as to why the dimm slots matter.
