HOTA_CHATON
I'm and all AMD guy and as such, I set my Corsair 55/57 Keyboard plus my Roccat Kone Pure Mouse to RED. Well, about 2 weeks ago, my Roccat mouse stopped working so I decided to try the Corsair M65 Pro RGB Mouse to replace it and go along with my keyboard. About 3 years ago, my MOBO crashed and was replaced but, both my mouse and keyboard came back up to the static & flashing red scheme I had, without any issue. I can set up my new red colors for my keyboard & mouse, get them working but they always shut down and go dark, like a stock keyboard & mouse. I have tried everything I know to do. I am already tired of playing cat & mouse with this junk, what can I do?
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted February 14 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14 Are you making the changes in the Hardware Lighting tab of each device or the Lighting Effects tab? If you are making the changes in the Hardware Lighting those settings are to use to save a lighting effect to the hardware for when iCUE is not actively running, and must be saved to the devices before they will take effect with iCUE closed. The Lighting Effects tab is the effects you wish for the devices to run when the iCUE software is actively running in the background.
HOTA_CHATON
That's the problem, it is running and no matter what I do, as soon as I minimize Icue to the tray, they both stop. I did a complete uninstall, of the software, a fresh install, set it all up again, and as long I have the menu open, it runs. Soon as that's closed and I put it running in the back ground, bang, it's gone.
HOTA_CHATON
I am also now noticing that if I will go back into the dashboard, click on the lighting tab for either my mouse or key board, the lighting I have set up will now turn on. Once I click into something else, then it turns the lights off and both are black and it doesn't matter which one I am tinkering with.
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted February 14 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 14 What you are describing is the intended behavior of the HARDWARE LIGHTING menu for the devices. As I previously detailed those effects will only be running when set, saved to the onboard memory of the device, and then iCUE is completely closed out and not running, such as on initial boot or at the Windows login screen. You will need to make the desired lighting effect changes in the LIGHTING EFFECTS menu per device. Those are the effects that the iCUE software will run when you minimize the iCUE software to the system tray. I have provided examples below. The first screenshot is for when iCUE is actively running. As you can see the effects are set in the LIGHTING EFFECTS menu. And the second screenshot is the effect I have set, and saved to the hardware profiles for the keyboard, and is only in effect when iCUE is completely closed out, initial boot, Windows login screen, etc... HOTA_CHATON
I have done that for both the M65 mouse and the K68 keyboard, I found out, that's what it is, but something is wrong with my keyboard set up. If I close out Icue, as I just did, a few moments ago, due to a Windows update restart, the mouse will power right on through and pop back onto my desired color scheme, all through the re-boot. My keyboard? It's nowhere to be found and I am now having to go back into Icue, each and every time, and turn it back on. As long as Icue is running in the back ground, it's there like a champ but have to turn it of, and it goes solid black, no lighting. Your posted examples look just as mine do but something is just not happening for me. I'm going to re-uninstall the software, restart my computer, then do a completely fresh install then attempt another shot at it. Funny note, I was using Roccat software to light my Kone Pure mouse and for some strange reason, since I didn't have Icue installed & had a brand new storage device installed, this keyboard came up to my desired red color. Just doesn't make much sense.🤯
Solution HOTA_CHATON Posted February 15 Author Solution Share Posted February 15 Hi, I'm back and my issue is solved. I completely removed every trace of Icue Software, even tracked down the installation files located on my storage drive, then used REVO Uninstaller to remove all of it, and then did a complete reset of my K68 keyboard. You'll never guess what happened, my keyboard came back to the red color, I had, before installing Icue Software and my mouse stayed the same red color, as my keyboard. I call that a win/win and I didn't have to even re-install the software, and don't plan to, unless I have a good reason to need it. So, I am back to my red color and Icue free. Thanks for all your help, it is much appreciated as I now have a much better understanding of the software.
