poddy
Hi there recently purchased Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200C2 Pro TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 RAM to use with my original Motherboard which is a Abit NF7-S V2.0. i set the latency settings from corsair site into the Bios and ran the RAM 1:1 ratio with my cpu as it also runs at 400mhz. i then decided to run a benchmark within sisoft sandra 2005 pro but noticed that the results weren't much faster than my old corsair 512mb value ram. the results were only about 10mb faster than my old RAM and results were as follows : Benchmark Results RAM Bandwidth Int Buff'd aEMMX/aSSE : 2728 MB/s RAM Bandwidth Float Buff'd aEMMX/aSSE : 2562 MB/s. Any idea why my ram maybe running slow? as a friend has the same ram but achieves double my results. Any help will be greatfull thank you :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 20, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 20, 2005 What application are you using to get the memory performance? And can you list the complete system spec and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 20, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 20, 2005 I would try and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and Everest is a bit better for testing memory performance.
poddy
I think my dim voltage is already set to 2.7v as thats what it was already set to in the bios. ive also tried everest aswell but still didnt give me anywhere near performance as my friends ram. any other ideas you may have?? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 21, 2005 You are comparing Intel I875 chipset to Nforce 2. I am sorry but the memory performance for Nforce 2 will never reach what you get with Intel I875 chipset. Nforce2 will bench at about 2500-3000 MBs. So you are getting about average. poddy
ok thankyou, do you know if the ram will run alot faster on a newer system? i intend to upgrade pc soon and will be purchasing an msi k8n neo2 platinum nforce 3 with an amd 64 4000+ san diego cpu?? thankyou for you time and help
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 21, 2005 Yes, the memory performance of socket 939 CPU's is on par with I875 chipset.
