Make sure you are installing the two modules in the correct DIMM slots for a 2 module configuration. That would by DIMM slots A2 and B2 or the 2nd and 4th slots from the CPU.

Hello Corsair Notepad.

Thank for the answer.

I have 4 modules configuration (4x16gb), so i have all the slots occupied.

Any other idea?

if you're on 12th gen, it may be hard to run 4 sticks at 5600. The CPU ram speed spec decreases as you add sticks, and if they are single or dual rank.

if you can manage to boot with only two sticks on A2 and B2, that may be a clue this is what's happening.

Hello LeDoyen

Let me see if i understand. You are telling me that possible i can enable XMP at 5600 running only 2 sticks on A2 and B2?

I don't know what CPU you have but it may be possible.

on Alder lake (12th gen), the CPU spec for memory speed goes down depending on your motherboard having two or 4 ram slots, and if you use two or 4 sticks, of single or dual rank memory. (it's the Intel table below)

I don't know if DDR5 16 gb are dual rank. DDR4 was. So if you have 4 sticks of dual rank ram, the CPU spec is not 4800mhz anymore but 3600. Going to 5600 from that is pretty steep, and up to luck really.

if you only use two sticks, the spec is 4400. overclocking to 5600 is more feasible.

As much as possible, it's better to favor 2 sticks in stead of 4 if you care about frequency. The CPU will struggle less with stability.

My CPU is 12700K, Motherboard z690 Aorus ultra. I really don't know if they are dual or single rank, that's my bad. Later i can confirm, but i think that in my Bios info i have the information that the ram speed is at 4400, but i have to confirm.

Please also note that our DRAM kits are only validated an guaranteed to work in the configuration that they are packaged and sold as.

Considering that we do not currently have any 4-module DDR5 memory kits for sale this would indicate that you are mixing two separate kits in order to populate all four DIMM slots. Mixing memory kits such as you are doing can so can lead to system stability issues, prevent XMP from working, or even prevent the system from booting entirely.

When you consider the limitations of the integrated memory controller on the 12-gen Intel CPUs, and that you are using two memory kits in an unsupported configuration, you are indeed likely to have issues when attempting to not only enable XMP, but you could potentially have system stability issues with BIOS settings at their default settings.

Sticking to a single 2-module memory kit is going to net you the best possible ability to hit the rated memory speeds, and provide you the better system stability.

So ... wait one second here.

Are you saying that if I want to populate all 4 channels and have them functional, I shouldn't be buying Corsair? I should look to another vendor that will provide 4 DIMM solutions?
Because that is what you are saying here.
