Macro Second assignment not executing

Recommended Posts

K70 RGB PRO  |  iCUE4

I'm trying to make a profile for a game that has a default lighting on the keyboard but when you click a certain button it turns black and an 'explosion' effect plays over the blacked out keyboard.

To do this I've been using the key assignment macro, making it so that when I click "z" the keyboard fades in a black gradient and the second assignment is set to play another macro that should play the explosion effect, however, whatever I do the second macro never activates. The lighting works on the second macro as I can activate it by itself but for whatever reason it never plays as the second assignment. I've tried changing the assignment type to see if it was just the two lighting effects not working together at once but it wont even open an app or type text as a second assignment.

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong or am I misunderstanding the second assignment action?

How exactly are you trying to achieve what you are doing?

I tried to make a test profile to put here but realised I can't put cueprofile files here, I'll try describe it best I can.

In my lighting layers I have ~

  1. Wave - A gradient of orange to red going right to left (Hidden)
  2. Gradient - Blue to black to blue again (for as long as "wave" lasts) (Hidden)
  3. Static color - Blue

My Key Assignments are

  1. Macro 1 - When the "Z" key is pressed it plays "Gradient" and as its second assignment it activates Macro 2
  2. Macro 2 - No key assigned. Plays "Wave"

This setup seems to successfully the gradient and not the wave. I tried setting Macro 2 to KP1 thinking it might have needed a key activation set to work, still no wave.

I tried recording KP1 key being pressed into Macro one instead of the second assignment, no wave.

I tried adding a delay to the KP1 key press thinking they were going on at the same time and the gradient was for some reason above the wave, no wave.

although Macro 1 wasn't activating Macro 2's linked lighting, it would still active Macro 2's activation button.  I could also activate Macro 2 manually by clicking KP1 while macro 1's gradient was going, and it would play the wave over the gradient, so the wave definitely works with the gradient.
