Possibly bad module

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been experiencing random hard lockups (blank screen, keyboard/mouse do nothing, can't remote login) of my system over the last year or so. The computer will work flawlessly for a month or two, then lockup almost daily for a couple weeks.

So I ran memtest86+ v1.51, and found errors. I have two XMS DDR400 512MB modules in an Asus A7N8 Deluxe motherboard.

I removed one stick, and re-ran memtest---again, errors.

I replaced that stick with the other, and re-ran memtest. It ran for over nine errors (27 passes) without finding any errors.

Are there any more tests I should run, or should I consider this module in need of replacement?

I would get them both replaced especially if this is a Twinx set of modules.

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
