THoomAas76
Like I didn't have enough problems with icue H150i elite lcd still showing the exclamation point (since April that I bought the watercooler) and probably the reason my pc booting correctly only after it restarts itself. Now I bought a 4080 GPU and installed the Gigabyte control center and have it on a Asus Hero z690 motherboard. I figured since I can't use just one program Asus armoury crate I shouldn't pay 200 or 500 euros more to get an Asus GPU. And since the GCC installed frequently without realising why and when icue which runs in the background stops recognising the 3rd fan in the cooling sector where there is no sensor for the 3rd fan. It can find it when I search for fans but will not show it in the cooling tab where I select how I want the fans to run, balanced quiet, custom, extreme. If I quit icue the fan starts spinning again. I uninstalled icue and everything with revouninstaller, turned off pc, and when I installed icue again the problem seemed solved till it appeared again. This happened 3-4 times now. THoomAas76
I am not sure if the problem stopped entirelly but it seems that the import settings was one cause of the problem.
THoomAas76
With the new icue update the 3rd fan stops problem problem emerged again. Exlamation mark still appears at the power up, why I do I even update icue I don't know. Edited January 17 by THoomAas76
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted January 17 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17 For testing purposes what happens when you remove the GCC software, and Armoury Crate if you have it installed? Do the issues persist? Also are you always running the Gigabyte software or Armoury Crate software at the same time as iCUE?
THoomAas76
Yes I always run Armoury Crate and GCC. I guess if I install icue again with no settings automatically imported the problem will be solved but this will mean I can never save my settings. Do you mean having Armoury Crate and GCC not running at windows start up or removing them entirely? Gigabyte says the GPU will not run properly if GCC is not running.. THoomAas76
Sorry I was confused and now I can't edit. I always run GCC but not Armoury Crate.
THoomAas76
It wasn't the imported settings, uninstalling icue and everything and installing it again didn't fix anything. Repairing icue didn't do anything. Uninstalling GCC and Armoury Crate (though not with the Armoury crate uninstall tool, but the problem is not the colors) didn't do anything. I don't know what else to do besides having icue uninstalled until the next update.
THoomAas76
Just to be clear, when I uninstalled GCC and Armoury Crate I also tried afterwards uninstalling Icue and installing it again, clear installation. It didn't work. I tried the previous version 4.31.168_release and the problem still exists, it wasn't the update, it just happened again or I just noticed it again. As you can see from the pictures the 3rd fan is not appearing in the Cooling tab ever.
c-attack
The Commander Core and XT use an auto detect feature on start up to check the PWM headers for a fan. If the fan doesn’t respond or there is a miscommunication it shuts the header off. No fan #3 in CUE means it likely turned off the header. Shutdown the pc and then flip the pc off. Go into the back and disconnect the #3 fan and reconnect it. Sometimes this is all it takes on a normal fan controller, but the power cycle will force the Com Core to do a full check on power on. While the RGB detection can be run from CUE, the PWM detection needs a power cycle (full off, not a restart) to trigger another run. If this does not work, swap fans 3 & 4 on the PWM side only (with the pc powered down). If PWM port 4 is now missing on power up, then this may be a physical fan issue. If it’s still #3, then it may be a Commander Core issue. Edited January 18 by c-attack
THoomAas76
The first trick didn't work. I switched pwm position between 3rd and 4th and now 4th doesn't spin. But as I said it spins when I quit or uninstall icue. So how can it be a Commander core issue and not a software issue?
c-attack
Does it spin at maximum speed in those circumstances? It's reacting to missing PWM control (wire or pin fault?). Software errors don't move from header to header as you move fans around. Contact Corsair Support to see about the fan. THoomAas76
Today all fans are working while the icue runs in the background. I guess I should not flip the pc off. The fans were not running at maximum speed, I was just browsing in the internet. It might be a pin fault because I haven't moved the fans but I just changed the wires. c-attack
I was curious if the “one fan” lost control of its speed. I suspect there is an intermittent signal along its PWM wire/pin, but either way it’s time to contact Support in the event you need a replacement fan or controller.
frankilugo
I just posted a similar issue to this. One of my 8 led series fan #5 on my capellix elite 150i just stops spinning when icue software boots up. When I exit the icue software it starts spinning again. When I am on the software it allows me to control the rgb on it but refused to show up on the cooling tab. It shows fan 1,2,3,4, (skips 5),6. I reverted back to 4.31 on a thread I found on here but that does not seem to fix the issue.
THoomAas76
The fan was ok all day, I exited windows and when I got into them again without reseting the pc the fan stopped working.
THoomAas76
With the new update 4.33.138 the problem hasn't appeared for days, it seems solved.
deadcat27
So I had a similar problem and also was banging my head against the wall with zero results for a few weeks. I don't use GCC? assuming that is some kind of gigabyte software. I did have the msi_dragon and asus stuff installed but since emptied all but GPU Tweak3. None of the extra updated software made any difference anyway. What did fix it for me was to have all the headers I wanted populated then just FORCE flash/update the pump/controller from the icue software. (Device Settings, 3dots, Force Update)) Problem solved. I don't think this is a great idea nor an intentional design but it seems to be a feature none the less. Just keep your fingers crossed or whatever hocus pocus you believe in that the electricity doesn't go out during the 25 seconds you are flashing and you'll be able to enjoy your forced air space heater once again.
