iCUE fails to update h150i Elite firmware to v.2.11.221, fans switch to 100% utilization

Recommended Posts

I have tried multiple times without success. I close all Apps including ASUS AI Suite etc. run the firmware update, then it crashes, all fans go to 100% utilization and iCUE doesn't recognize the h150i LCD anymore. I need to shutdown, then iCUE will recognize it again but the firmware update fails again.

I have the latest iCUE version available v.4.31.168

What would you do? skip to the next firmware version or is it a deeper issue?

This! I have exactly this problem. Numerous attempts to update my H150i Elite Capellix to v2.11.221, every time resulting in the process stalling, a red triangle appearing on the LCD, and then the device disappearing from iCue. Restarting from shutdown 'fixes' the issue, if only to put me back where I was before the attempted update. At least nothing gets bricked, but iCue wants to update the firmware still, and repeating the update process results in the same problem.

I've updated this cooler many times before, but this is the first time it's run into a problem.

I updated the firmware but I get no RGB controls, pump and fans are blacked out but are functioning. All other corsair products are working fine. I just recently updated from ICUE 3.4 to 4.3 and started updating everything while making sure other rgb software was off while doing it. What is weird is when I turn off the icue software it starts working again to previous hardware lighting settings.

The next time an H150 Elite Capellix update goes without issue for me will be the first.  This is beyond annoying.  Doing a clean install failed.  However, I found in the support hub that removing ALL the Bluetooth device connections as part of an install may work.  Well, almost.  At least the Capellix is recognized yet still demanding an upgrade  All my profiles got nuked as part of the cleaning process so I will need to redo those.  The fans are behaving, so there is that.  But the RGB for all the fans is not as it should be (e.g., some of the fans on the Capellix controller have RGB and some do not).  As I said before, beyond annoying.

Hi, what do you mean with: "removing ALL the Bluetooth device connections as part of an install may work" ?

Thanks in advance.

This is exactly my problem! If I try to update the firmware at version 2.11.221, the process freezes and the fans go to insane speed.

At the moment I'm not installing the update, but will they fix this issue with the next release or not?

Thanks to all
