Hyperion1969
Hi Folks, I have a couple of questions regarding fans in iCue: Is it possible to remove fans? I have a Commander Core XT which has 6 x QL120 attached but in the list of devices it for some reason has duplicated the fans so i am showing 2 lots of 6 x QL120 as shown below. I have used the "clean" uninstall method to remove iCue but when iCue is reinstalled I still have the duplicated fans. Is it possible to set fan orientation in iCue? I have a mixture of exhaust and intake so any light pattern that rotates clockwise will rotate counter-clockwise when hitting fans that are on intake. Many thanks! c-attack
1) It should not do that and worrisome it returned on the clean install. You can try a "repair install" from the Windows Apps list -> Corsair iCUE -> "Modify". That will not erase profiles or settings and is a no risk troubleshooting step. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work if this is a hardware issue with the Com XT. I would turn on debug logging in the CUE settings and then start a support ticket with Corsair. *Interesting screen shot. I have not used that part of the Murals feature much. Is this duplication just in Murals (software error)? I was expecting there to be "two Commander XTs" which is an older device problem. If it's just murals, then this is probably an early development bug and you can pass it on to them if you like. 2) Fan orientation - Yes, you can alter the origination point of a moving effect in the Lighting Set-up tab for each Commander. However, it's use is a bit confusing. The dot represents LED #1 or the origination point. As you rotate it around (4 positions) the actual dot on the fan does not move. That makes doing this a bit of trial and error. It also does not change the direction of travel (clockwise vs counter-clockwise). That has been the troublesome bit for some that do not want the wave to change rotational direction as it crosses to a new panel, but unfortunately that is the limitation. Hyperion1969
Thanks for taking the time to reply: *Interesting screen shot. I have not used that part of the Murals feature much. If I click on the Commander XT from the home screen then just the 6 fans are displayed. It's a bit of a PITA in the murals section because when setting the layout of components I have to layer the duplicated fans over the original fans. c-attack
OK, I think that's a good thing and likely just an early development bug. I will flag it for them and feel free to post it in the Murals feedback section. I've had issues with the fans resetting their position on update, cold boot, etc., but that is the first duplication I've seen. It also seems clear this is not the old 'double device' problem in CUE where it detects-drops-re-detects during initialization and creates two devices.
