robertark
Ok -- I have a brand new PC that I have built. However, Single sticks of Corsair XMS (1gb) ram is a bit too much as of right now. I am wondering if there are any stores (or people) that can sell 3GB of RAM (XMS Preferred) For my mother board. It supports 4GB Ram :) Here are my PC specs... • Operating System: (WinXP Professional 5.1 Service Pack 2 (Build #2600)) • Memory: 1Gigabyte (1024megabytes) Corsair Ram (XMS - or Xtreme Memory Speed) • Display Info: 1280 by 1024, 32bit colors, 100 Hz Refresh rate (Monitor: HP D2847 P1110 21-inch flatscreen (CRT)) • Video Card: nVidia FX-5500, 256mb ram • Sound: RealTek '97 (7.1 surround sound hooked up) • CPU Info: 1 CPU, AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor, 2.6 GHz, L1: 64KB, L2: 1024KB (0% load) (Average Temp: ~95 degrees faherenheit (or ~38 degrees celsius)) • Hard Disc Info: 69.23 Gigabytes total, 45.23 Gigabytes Free (Western Digital Raptor at about 10,000+rpm) • Connection: Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Bast-T Adapter, Copper RJ-45 - Packet Scheduler Miniport (1000Mb/s) • Mother Board: K8 Triton (series) - GA-K8NSNXP-939 (nForce3 Ultra Chipset) Yes -- I am an extreme gamer, but I would like more ram, so help me out! Thanks, -Rob Edit: The RAM model is: cmx1024-3200c2
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2005 I would not suggest more than one set of modules with this MB, as you may be limited to DDR333. And with this platform you would need to have 2 modules that are the same exact revision and part# or the system may not post!
Wired
In otherwords, look for a TwinX2048-3200C2 pack. Any reason you're looking for 3 GB?
robertark
I am looking for 4 gb total ram, so I'm wondering where to buy in bulk (3gb ram) -- I use this ram for music creation, 3d-mapping, image mapping, 3-d scaling, and also Garrys Mod. There are a few other reasons why I would like more ram, but I can't think of anything right now. Please tell me what I can use to get 4gb total (This motherboard will support it.) Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2005 Robert, What operating system will you use? If it's WinXP that I would not suggest more than 2.0 Gig of memory. As Windows will not allow any application more than 2.0 Gig of memory.
