I need to buy RAM but must verify first if it issingle-sided or double sided. My open slots will only accept single-sided RAM.

Can you confirm if CORSAIR 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM ECC Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) For Dell, Compaq, HP, IBM and Gateway Servers System Memory - Retail is single or double-sided?

Here is a link to the item: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145147

Thanks in advance!

First thing, what is the make and model of your MB? And second this module is listed incorrectly as it is a registered ECC module and may not be compatible with most desktop MB's. And all of our modules that are 512 Meg in density and larger would be double sided.

thank you!

motherboard = gigabyte GA-8knxp titan series / ga-81875 ultra

i bought it two years ago.

links are:

if you see the blowup of the board, there are four slots for RAM (lower right corner), and per the specs it will take up to 4G of RAM. I have 2G today, in slots one and three. They are double-sided 1G sticks. Originally I'd bought 4 sticks but only two could be found by the MB. Gigabyte said it's cause they were all double-sided. Therefore to get the 4G max would I need two more 1G sticks but they must supposedly be single-sided..

Forgive the ignorance, this is the first computer I built.. Does Kingston or someone else make single-sided 1G sticks? Or do i need to sell what I have and buy two 2G sticks and put them in 1 and 3, thus always having two empty slots??

Thanks again!

If you do find a single sided module the cost would be about 4 times the cost of a double sided equivalent. But I am sorry I can only answer questions about our modules. And you do not want to mix memory with this MB.
